Since the inception of Work on Climate, our mission has been to forge connections that empower climate action through work. With over 30,000 members, our diverse community has naturally evolved, giving rise to specialized subcommunities - Communities of Practice (CoPs) - focused on specific climate action interests. Our CoPs are where members collaborate, share expertise, and grow together, developing a shared identity as skilled practitioners. These communities are vibrant hubs for innovation and peer-to-peer learning, currently focusing on: 🌱 Climate Founders: Empowering entrepreneurs to launch and scale innovative climate solutions. 🌿 Workplace Sustainability: Helping professionals integrate sustainable practices into their workplaces. We're honored to have been selected as one of six new grantees by the Culture Amp Foundation! The grant, along with access to Culture Amp's engagement platform and pro-bono expertise, will help accelerate our impact and help more professionals transition into meaningful climate careers. We're grateful this unrestricted grant gives us the flexibility to invest where it's needed most - a trust-based approach that helps nonprofits achieve their mission effectively. Work on Climate's programs have helped 3,000+ people find climate jobs, and 3,000+ climate founders - and we're just getting started! Very excited to share that Zoe Samuel has joined the board of Work on Climate this year - as Vice Chair! Zoe has been a steadfast and consistent ally since before we even started the organization; she is a brilliant community-builder and a brilliant human being in many other regards. It's always been a joy working together with her. Now we get to have even more of that joy, and all who Work On Climate serves get to benefit from Zoe's talents in steering the organization :) A bit about Zoe in her own words: Zoe Samuel is a Venture Partner at Starshot Capital. Zoe previously worked at Google, where she co-created Alphabet’s largest internal grassroots climate solutions community, Anthropocene, now over 4000 strong. Anthropocene supports Google climate projects such as Project Sunroof, AnthroKrishi, and many more, as well as providing educational and career resources to Googlers seeking to contribute to climate solutions. Zoe also led circularity and climate programs and engagement for gTech, one of the larger divisions at Google, working toward a world without waste.
