YSS team members joined communities across Iowa for the annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count -- a crucial effort to identify and support those experiencing homelessness. The YSS team, along with volunteers, put together and handed out bags of essential items while working alongside community partners to assess local needs and ensure resources are directed where they’re needed most. Foster care youth gathered at the Iowa State Capitol for AMP Day on the Hill, sharing their experiences and advocating for policy changes that impact their future. Led by YSS, AMP (Achieving Maximum Potential) empowers youth with leadership opportunities and a platform to make their voices heard. Between classes, practices, and games, Iowa State athletes have packed schedules. But for three Cyclones, giving back is just as important as competing. ISU linebacker Jack Sadowsky, swimmer Fallon DeWitt, and swimmer Corinne Guist are volunteering as mentors through YSS, meeting with local kids each week to offer support, encouragement, and friendship. Their impact goes beyond the playing field—building relationships, boosting confidence, and inspiring the next generation. Join us in celebrating Lori Kepley and her 23 years of service! Lori dedicated her career as an overnight staff member in our residential program, providing care, support, and guidance to countless youth during some of their most vulnerable moments. Her unwavering commitment and compassion have left a lasting impact on YSS, our team, and has created hope and opportunity in the lives of so many young people.
