From a young age, Monica has always had a penchant for building and learning, which ultimately led her to curiosity in construction. Reflecting on her journey and career, she advises any young woman considering construction to "do it. The learning opportunities you get from working in construction are endless." "When I joined Underground in 2021, there were only two of us in the line side office, and I was the only woman. Since then, our department has grown, and now there are six women on our team. We are leading the way and eagerly anticipating the future." Outside of work, Arlett enjoys watching sports, though her greatest joy "...comes from witnessing my son grow, observing his personality develop, and seeing the interests he pursues." Erika notes that she "...loved the idea of a career that allowed me to work both in the field and in the office. I took my first internship with Underground and I never left." When asked what skills are necessary for success in the construction industry, she says without a doubt "...communication and Adaptation.
