  • ANNOUNCING: Our #AntiSummit NYC closing keynote speaker! We're excited to announce that our NYC #AntiSummit anti-Keynote will be delivered by Tazin Khan, CEO and Founder of Cyber Collective! Our #AntiSummit series was created to bring much needed change to #cybersecurity conferences. ❌ No passive sit down sessions where practitioners are talked at. ❌ No keynotes that are really sales pitches. Attendees will roll up their sleeves and work alongside peers. Sponsors' SMEs sit at the tables, not camped in booths. Learning, collaborating, teaching one another. And the closing keynote will leave leaders with a new perspective, and new ideas. 💡 Built for the community, by the community. The #AntiSummit series will be landing in: Atlanta, June 17 LA, Oct. 9 San Francisco, Nov. 6

  • Thank you, Chicago! Great to see all the members who came out for our Working Lunch at Kraft-Heinze HQ! This is a new event type for us, after feedback from the community of 1400+ security leaders. This session was for networking and to tackling mock scenarios faced by every CISO. As always, it was great to get folks out from behind screens to gather together in person, break bread, and share lessons learned through hard experiences. Many thanks to member Ricardo Lafosse for hosting us at the Kraft-Heinz office and to Glilot Capital Partners for their support of this event!

This is a new event type for us, after feedback from the community of 1400+ security leaders. It was exciting to host a full house, despite warnings of potential winter weather, to take on two sessions: 1️⃣ Protecting your ‘Dataverse’ 2️⃣ Buying Down Risk Through Strategic Technology Investments. As always, it was great to get folks out from behind screens to break bread and share experiences to work through thorny program and practice issues. Many thanks to Cyera and Tines for their support of this event!

What do CISOs talk about when they talk about vendors? Not what #cybersecurity vendors are preoccupied with… Vendor teams spend so much time ruminating on technical differentiation. How to talk about the features. How to overcome objections. Where and when do they mention AI. This fixation makes sense. They’re in the trenches of product development and under pressure to deliver sales. But the balance is way off. Many of the grievances I hear from security leaders, the reasons they’ll go to lengths to rip and replace tools, do not come down to technical deficiencies. It’s shoddy customer service, a pile of unresolved tickets, onerous processes made more annoying by bad UX, insufficient training for operators, churn and musical chairs of account managers. Successful GTM strategy means not just winning customers but retaining them and turning them into your loudest advocates. If you’re ramping a sales team before you’ve hired customer success, you’ve signaled that you’re more ready to broadcast than to listen. You’re headed down the wrong path. At The CISO Society, we’re embarking on a new study about what matters most to our members when it comes to purchasing new solutions. The preliminary findings are already fascinating and surprising. 👀 Stay tuned. #CISOsTalk
