Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital is proud to celebrate Kimberly Cleveland, one of our dedicated certified diabetes care and education specialists, on being awarded the Distinguished Service Award for Advocacy by the Oregon Chapter of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists! 💙 Kimberly's advocacy work played a crucial role in advocating for the expansion of Oregon's Medicaid program to cover continuous glucose monitoring for individuals with Type 2 diabetes who have qualifying complications. Prior to 2024, this life-changing technology was only available to individuals with Type 1 diabetes, leaving many with Type 2 diabetes without access to this vital tool. Thanks to Kimberly's dedication and efforts, more individuals with Type 2 diabetes will now have access to this technology, improving their diabetes management and health outcomes. 👏
