About us

At the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, you can race a T. rex, challenge friends in robot competitions, explore the astonishing links between dinosaurs and modern-day birds, experience a simulated earthquake, journey through the universe, and test what it means to “be human”. Everything from dinosaurs to DNA to diamonds are packed into five levels of hands-on discovery and adventure. We built a Museum to inspire the life-long learner in all of us.

  • 🎉 We are proud to announce the Perot Museum of Nature and Science has recently achieved reaccreditation by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), a distinguished designation for museums, with less than 4% of the nation’s estimated 33,000 museums currently holding this status.    The official press release notes AAM accreditation is “Recognized as the field’s gold standard for museum excellence for nearly 55 years, AAM accreditation signifies a museum’s quality and credibility to the entire museum community, to governments and outside agencies, and to the museum-going public. The Accreditation Program ensures the integrity and accessibility of museum collections, reinforces the educational and public service roles of museums, and promotes good governance practices and ethical behavior.”    The Perot Museum joins 25 other recently accredited/reaccredited museums, including fantastic Dallas institutions, the Dallas Museum of Art and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza! Please join us in celebrating this achievement and congratulating our peers on earning this distinction. Read the full press release on the AAM website: http://bit.ly/3CYoXZ1

  • ANNOUNCEMENT This week the Perot Museum of Nature and Science announced a major transformation of the Moody Family Children’s Museum coming May 2025. Enhancing one of our most treasured spaces for families and children, the reimagined Children’s Museum will incorporate the latest in early-educational research and feature interactive exhibitions and experiences to foster creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking in children while empowering young minds to reimagine the future. The new hall will nearly double in size, growing from 6,259 square feet to nearly 11,000 square feet, to include an expanded Toddler Area, a Makery where our youngest visitors will tinker and engineer, an immersive Imaginarium experience, and a larger Outdoor Area with climbing and water features. The expansion bolsters the Museum’s position as the preeminent children’s museum of the region, extending programming to serve children up to age 7, offering an enriching experience from toddlers to early elementary students. The world-class concept incorporates state-of-the-art technology and international design principles to enhance STEM learning, connecting children to the wonders of science and discovery through learn-by-play. The current Children’s Museum will close for renovations in early January 2025. During the closure, popular activities from the existing Children’s Museum will be available for visitors on the Museum’s Lower Level beginning in mid-January 2025.
