Join us in congratulating Nicholas Sorensen, RN, admit discharge nurse at Northern Nevada Medical Center, for completing the LeaRN Clinical Ladder certification, a program designed to elevate and enhance the nursing profession. “I was interested in pursuing LeaRN Clinical Ladder because it provided the opportunity to share my experience and knowledge with other healthcare staff to empower them to provide great care of our patients,” he said. “There are many situations and circumstances that arise in nursing and this program is an excellent opportunity for everyone to grow and learn from each other and their experiences.” As part of the program, nurses must create a project that is aimed at improving processes. Nicholas focused on standardizing surgeon preferences to be the same for each procedure and creating a resource that nurses from any department can use to know what each surgeon’s post-operative care includes.
