Over the past year, we have had 14 Attendant Paramedics who were successful in their #promotion to In-Charge Paramedic! The IC position is vital to the success of an #EMS crew. The IC serves as the lead paramedic on an ambulance, holds a higher clinical authorization than an attendant, and provides guidance and direction as a mentor for their attendant paramedic. Last week during #CE, Medical Director Dr. Patrick recognized them for their efforts with a special challenge coin. Here’s to your next adventure! 👏

Our Q1 2025 #ContinuingEducation (CE) week focused on the rollout of the UE Scope, a video laryngoscope capable of recording all intubation attempts. Over the five-day training, more than 320 #EMS providers performed over 8,000 practice intubations, ensuring familiarity and proficiency with the new device. Training was led by our EMS Medical Directors, with assistance from two emergency medicine resident physicians. Captains and District Chiefs played a critical role in the training process, providing hands-on instruction, guidance, and real-time feedback to participants after completing their own UE Scope training. Their expertise and leadership helped ensure a smooth and effective learning experience for all providers. To support the high volume of practice, 18 airway mannequins were used, including specialty difficult airway simulation mannequins and pediatric airway mannequins, allowing providers to gain experience across a range of patient populations. This CE session marked a significant step forward in our airway management capabilities, reinforcing high-quality intubation techniques while integrating video-assisted documentation for improved training and quality assurance. #insidemchd

Congratulations to the recipients of the Dr. Robert Dickson Clinical Excellence Award! This month’s winners did a phenomenal job treating two patients with severe cases of asthma who went into cardiac arrest. At this week’s board meeting, we announced that all future clinical excellence awards will be in honor of retired Medical Director Dr. Robert Dickson - a man who dedicated himself to the clinical growth of MCHD. #legendary #insidemchd #ems
