The overhaul of I-35 in Austin will cost more than $5 billion, displace over 100 homes and businesses, and take about a decade to complete. Transportation reporter Nathan Bernier and the KUT newsroom launched a project page to help Central Texans navigate it all. https://lnkd.in/g59iU9Cs

Over the last year, listener support has made it possible for us to fulfill our mission to inform, inspire and connect. You powered initiatives like free community concerts, cultural spotlights, and vital public service announcements. Take take a moment to watch this short video and reflecting on some of the things you've helped make possible. https://lnkd.in/gp5q_Cg4
Here's what you helped us accomplish in 2024. We couldn't have done it without your support!

Are you passionate about public media and skilled in B2B sales? Our sponsorships team is on the hunt for a dynamic Account Manager to help connect local businesses with our highly engaged audience. If building meaningful partnerships and making a difference in your community excites you, we’d love to hear from you!

Our general manager, Debbie Hiott, has been elected to the NPR board of directors by NPR member station peers from across the country. “It felt important to have a seat at the table at a critical time for NPR as it determines how to address challenging audience and underwriting trends, and how it will handle relationships with member stations,” said Hiott. https://lnkd.in/g_HxgxFX

Does your organization have space – such as a lobby, auditorium, atrium or other area that could host 50-70 people? We’re always looking for space to host free community events, such as KUT Considers. We’ve recently partnered with Rivian Austin on our Field Guide to Austin series, including last month's "Bat Chat." In December, we’re partnering with Austin Beerworks on a mixer. If your organization has space and would like to host groups of KUT News and KUTX fans, reach out to info@kut.org.

Thank you CultureMap Austin, LLC for today’s story on ATXplained Live – aka "Best Live Performance Journalism" – taking the stage Wednesday at the Bass. Proceeds fund the independent, local journalism Texans rely on to be informed citizens. 🎙️ https://lnkd.in/gUdgGVFz

The ATXplained Live project tells the stories of Austin’s people, places and culture. Our next ATXplained Live performance – where journalists bring the stories to life on stage using props, music and even special guests – is Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Bass Concert Hall. Tickets are still available. https://lnkd.in/gQyE23-x
Last November, I started working on a story about why people were leaving patterns of kitchen flour around town for KUT’s ATXPlained series. To report it, I drank most of a hard seltzer, went on a run, then found humanity at the end. Programming like ATXPlained was a big part of my inspiration to pursue journalism, so having the opportunity to report a story, perform it on stage, and now release it online is an honor. Seeing it in the podcast feed still feels surreal. https://lnkd.in/gruYVE5u

We believe our year-over-year audience growth is driven by our in-depth local coverage of how state and local policies shape critical issues like education, the environment, population growth and shifting demographics. Our connection with the local community is further strengthened through audience engagement events, such as KUT Considers, monthly coffee meet-ups, ATXplained Live and more.

Yet another NPR station with a huge increase in listening. Folks are pivoting back to trusted media - seeking political context, avoiding political commercials. (Public Radio stations don't accept political ads.) KUT & KUTX Public Media offers a powerful opportunity for marketers focused on #brandsafety, #trust, and #credibility in a low clutter, high engagement environment. SponsorKUT.org
