Pope Francis calls us all to be joyful, patient, and bold in sharing the Gospel. Whether it’s through personal transformation or reaching out to others, his words inspire a deeper commitment to missionary discipleship. In today's Gospel, according to Luke 5:1-11 we witness Jesus inviting Simon Peter to “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” Simon responds, "Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And at that moment, they caught a great number of fish to the point of their nets tearing. Time and time again, we come to the Lord in great poverty. Yet through HIs mercy, He transforms and uses our littleness to bear much fruit if we simply let Him lead. #focuscatholic #sundaygospel

THIS THURSDAY, February 6th at 7pm MST, Dr. Jonathan Reyes will be hosting a live event where he speaks about our culture and how we can transform it as Catholics in today's society. Culture—the way people think, act, talk, create, govern, educate, worship, work, spend money, form friendships and live life—can and should be rooted in the reality of the Gospel. These days, it can be tempting to feel like it never will be. The good news is this: together, we have the ability to transform the culture. Check out more information on this free talk that you can participate in virtually here: https://lnkd.in/grnxvhvC Tag a friend you'd like to attend this talk with! #focuscatholic #focusalumni #catholicspeaker

On the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, we recall when Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple, fulfilling the law and revealing Him as the Light of the Nations. Simeon, filled with the Holy Spirit, recognized the Christ and prophesied both salvation and suffering—a foreshadowing of the Cross. Jesus walks with us in our trials. He knows our struggles and strengthens us when we unite our suffering to His. Today, we are reminded to bring our hearts before Him, trusting that He is our help, our light, and our salvation. #focuscatholic
