Reflecting on both my professional and creative achievements of 2024, I’m excitied to share some of my highlights of the year.
- In March of 2024, I attended Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s Dev Con, where I was able to interact with professionals and companies in Biotechnology, successful entrepreneurs, and many like-minded HBCU students. Through this experience I sharpened my networking skills, professional abilities, and took away many new skills.
- April of 2024 I participated in Howard University’s Selah Poets’ first annual Poetry Slam Competition, winning third place. This experience solidified my unwavering love for the arts, as I was able to not only share my art, but consume others as well. Thank you to my fellow Selah Poets E-Board members, Jada Carter Cynthia Taylor Cutler Misha B. Lucien for curating such a beautiful space.
-In May I began shadowing two wonderful physical therapists at BenchMark Physical Therapy. This experience gave me hands-on exposure to patient care, therapy techniques, and clinic operations. I gained many valuable insights into rehabilitation strategies, patient interaction, and the overall workflow of a physical therapy clinic, which truly enhanced my understanding of the profession and strengthened my career aspirations.
- Going into the Fall semester, I began my new E-board position as Howard University’s T.A.N.G.L.E.S. Events Coordinator. This opportunity has allowed me to connect with other student leaders to curate impactful and educational events for our members throughout the semester.
- To close out this rewarding year, I have been recognized as a 4x Dean’s List honoree, from 2022-2024. I’m excited to see all that 2025 has in store- academically, professionally, and creatively.
