OpenAI recently launched their agentic AI service, Operator. This is a gamechanger for business and for government clients. Here are the highlights: 👉 Operator is a web app that can carry out simple online tasks in a browser, such as booking concert tickets or filling an online grocery order. 👉 The app is powered by a new model called Computer-Using Agent—CUA —built on top of OpenAI’s multimodal large language model GPT-4o. 👉 The CUA is trained to interact with the front-end of websites, meaning it doesn’t need to use developer-facing APIs to tap into different services. 👉 In other words, the CUA can use buttons, navigate menus, and fill out forms on a web page much like a human would. 👉 Operator is available today at operator.chatgpt.com to people in the US signed up with ChatGPT Pro, OpenAI’s premium $200-a-month service. 👉 The company says it plans to roll the tool out to other users in the future. 👉 It will be rolled out to all countries soon. There are some limitations to Operator at this time, but agentic AI's use and capabilities will just increase over time. " "At OpenAI, we’re building AI to help people solve hard problems, and we see enormous potential for these tools to support the public sector in tackling complex challenges—from improving public health and infrastructure to strengthening national security." "By making our products available to the U.S. government, we aim to ensure AI serves the national interest and the public good, aligned with democratic values, while empowering policymakers to responsibly integrate these capabilities to deliver better services to the American people."
