Making in-space transportation abundant

About us

At Argo, we are building infrastructure for the future of space. We believe the next great leap beyond Earth requires re-imagining in-space transportation – transitioning to a new paradigm of abundant, unconstrained movement. We are untethering space operations from Earth by leveraging the moon’s shallow gravity well and accessible water resources. Argo will harvest lunar water and use it as propellant to create a true in-space transportation network. By sourcing propellant from the moon, we will provide the freedom to maneuver throughout space. This freedom will expand the possibilities for space businesses and support permanent human presence beyond Earth. Harnessing Lunar water will help usher in a new era of affordable activity in space.

  • If you are being impacted by the recent round of layoffs at JPL, but want to keep daring mighty things in space, we are always looking for great engineers to continue doing just that at Argo.   We are building fast and moving quickly towards our first launch, so check out our open positions here on LinkedIn if you or someone you know would like to join.

  • Last week, we turned water into fire! Introducing Chiron, our gaseous H2-O2 spacecraft thruster. We developed Chiron to provide our Argonaut space logistics vehicles with responsive orbital movement and maneuver capabilities while taking full advantage of our water-based architecture. Developed as the high-thrust half of our dual-mode water propulsion system, Chiron uses hydrogen and oxygen gas, generated by electrolysis, to provide high thrust for getting places quickly. This complements our primary high-efficiency propulsion used for LEO to GEO transport, using the same water propellant. Water is the oil of space – and there are many ways to use it!

  • At Argo, we are creating water-based in-space transportation service to make deltaV abundant. Our Argonaut space vehicles will use on-orbit refueling to provide affordable, responsive transportation to MEO, GEO, and cislunar space. At IAC '24 we were proud to demonstrate a small step towards this future of in-space abundance by performing multiple live demonstrations of robotic propellant transfer with our partners at Arkisys, using Argo’s Open Propellant Transfer Interface (OPTI). To continue advancing our refuellable space logistics systems toward orbital operations, we also signed an MOU with Arkisys to host water storage and OPTI units at their Port Modules, allowing Argonauts to use these as on-orbit refueling stations.

  • We are pleased to announce our oversubscribed Seed Round, led by Crosslink Capital. This brings our total funds raised to nearly $12M including venture capital and U.S. Government contracts from NASA and the USSF. If you are an excellent engineer driven to help accelerate the creation of abundant in-space transportation and the use of in-space resources, apply to join our team. We will be using the funds to accelerate our progress in creating the in-space mobility and logistics architecture of the future, with a focus on developing and building the first Argo space vehicle for launch in Q4 2025. This funding will also support hires of additional top-tier engineering talent and our new headquarters in El Segundo, CA. This facility will house design, manufacturing, build, and test of Argo space transport vehicles and lunar water extraction hardware. Thank you to the continued support of all of our investors: Crosslink Capital, Type One Ventures, Stellar Ventures, Boost VC, AIR Capital, Venture Science, Gaingels and others. To learn more about our vision, visit our website and catch up on the latest of Aria Alamalhodaei's two great pieces she's written on Argo.
