The Catholic Bishops of Washington released this statement on the Feast of the Holy Family: "During this time of uncertainty and fear, we stand with our immigrant and refugee brothers and sisters. May all our brothers and sisters on the margins, especially migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, know that our parishes are open for prayer, comfort and solace. May each of us embrace the Gospel teaching and Pope Francis’ call to recognize the dignity of others as we welcome the stranger."

On World Day Against the Death Penalty (Oct. 10), the Archdiocese of Seattle's Criminal Justice Ministry was a sponsor for the 15th anniversary celebration of the Catholic Mobilizing Network. The event brought together faithful, justice-oriented people from all across the country for a night of collective envisioning of the future. The CMN works to end the death penalty nationally and promote restorative justice. The Archdiocese of Seattle supports Catholic ministry and encourages Catholic non-profits in Western Washington to apply for funding through the Saint Joseph Foundation. Established August 5, 2021, the St. Joseph Foundation is dedicated to connecting faith with charitable giving for the long-term support of the mission of the church and the Catholic community in Western Washington. The application period for grants from the St. Joseph Foundation of the Archdiocese of Seattle will be closing September 13, 2024.
