I ended up here, even if is a old thread, might be useful for someone, you can create and use windows like this:

new_window = open_new_window
switch_to_window new_window

or:

within_window new_window do
end

you can also find new windows through windows object.

The way you tried table.find_elements(:css, '> tbody > tr') is not valid css syntax in selenium-webdriver.It should be table.find_elements(:css, 'tbody > tr').I would suggest you to write this way:

table = driver.find_element(:css, 'div#myelement table.myclass>tbody')
rows = table.find_elements(:css, 'tr')

or jsfiddle

table = driver.find_element(:css, 'div#myelement table.myclass')
rows = table.find_elements(:css, 'tbody:nth-of-type(1) > tr')

No, there is no existing wrapper for that.

You seem to be missing the fact that Capybara is itself a wrapper around selenium-webdriver, so you are asking for a selenium compatible wrapper around a wrapper around selenium. This coupled with the fact that if all you do is emulate your existing selenium commands with Capybara commands you won't be gaining anything from Capybara, so it's pointless. It sounds like your team would be better off leaving the existing tests as they are, writing all new tests using Capybara, and as existing tests need change/maintenance rewriting them to use Capybara with it's built-in waiting/retrying and friendlier API.

As of Watir v6.7, attribute methods are now just the attribute name in lowercase. They are no longer using snake case.

In other words, you want to use colspan instead - eg:

browser.td.colspan

I kept running into this problem when using Selenium Webdriver from Ruby. I solved it a couple times but the error came back. So I wrote my rspec tests to be loaded by jRuby on Windows and ran the Selenium calls in Java. Safari works now.

Selenium uses the browser's native CSS selector engine. As a result, the find_element method will consider jQuery selectors, in this case the :eq(0), as being invalid.

If you want to use jQuery selectors, you will need to manually execute that script using the execute_script method. Note that when using this approach an array of Selenium::WebDriver::Element will be returned, which is why the .first is used (to get the first element of the Array).

That said, if the only jQuery selector you are trying to use is :eq, you could get by with standard CSS selectors. The :eq selector returns a specific element within the matching set. You could do the same by using the find_elements and [] methods:

second_element = driver.find_elements(:css, 'div.question-summary')[1]

Since you want the hrefs from all the images that will appear you probably want to tell all that you want currently non-visibile images too - so
