Lamp Speaker 2019Anonymous reviewerI got my speaker lamp in 2019 and it’s still going strong!!! I haven’t even changed the light bulb and I use it every day and night!! I honestly sometimes forgets it’s a speaker but when I do remember the sound is still as good as when I first bought it!5
PerfectSusanThe original light globe was broken when it arrived. The broken bulb was taken into the Ikea store and replaced. Service was great!5
Problematic set up and connectivityLesleyI purchased this lamp/speaker with glass shade after hearing the great sound in the store. I've been wanting a nice bluetooth speaker for my home office and debated between Bose, Beats, JBL and Sonos. I was pleasantly surprised to see the collaboration between IKEA and Sonos. For the hefty price tag and my love for IKEA, it seemed like a win win. I was wrong. I couldn't get the lamp registered and it was extremely difficult to make the connectivity work. I checked online blogs, watched videos and even attempted to call the Sonos customer care department (be prepared for the very long hold time). I have decided that it isn't worth the trouble for the price tag.1
VERY BUGGYVestaThe product's setup process has proven to be exceptionally challenging, leading to my negative user experience. Despite multiple factory resets, the device continues to experience connectivity issues, as evidenced by numerous customer complaints. This collaboration appears to have resulted in a product that lacks the necessary quality and reliability. Very disappointment in the release of such a problematic product and expect prompt action to address these concerns.1
In love with the soundCharleneIn love with the sound of this speaker, the Cadillac of speakers in my opinion5
Great way to sneak speakers into a nice looking roomAnonymous reviewerIf this happens to fit your aesthetic, it’s a great little invention. It sounds good enough for what it is, and the glass shades look really cool. I kind of preferred the old mushroom style but the new one is also neat. You could always use your own shade clipped to the bulb if you don’t like IKEas options.
My biggest gripe: the cylinder in the center of the glass shades tends to sit a bit crooked. You can see it in some of the photos on the website. Mine did the same thing but I was able to coax it into line with a bit of force. A little annoying for a $50 lamp shade.
Last, the price. I got mine on sale which is nice, of course. I noticed that prices went up across nearly everything recently. This speaker with shade is more $20 more than it used to be. At $260 it’s getting a bit high to me for what you get.4

Good speaker, bad connectionEricWifi connection is very weak and disconnects often, even when in the same room as the router. I currently use an ethernet connection and that hasn't failed yet. May be better if you have other sonos products that can boost the signal.3
Great sound and easy setEvelynGreat sound and easy set up!5
SonosDominickExcellent package lamp snd great sound.5
Works great!RobertI’ve had the original version for three years now. You must first calibrate the sound in the Sonos app or else you’ll get muffled sound! You MUST not skip this step during setup and MUST auto calibrate the sound!5
Great LampJakubSound and looks great!5
Melted insideShayneHave had this lamp for almost a year. Worked awesome until today when the lamp started flickering. Then turned off completely. When I took off the shade, the inside had melted. Like full on melted. Ruined. I won’t be buying anything expensive from ikea again.1
Quirky look, average sound, unexpected power behaviorRomanI'll start by saying that the lamp simply didn't work for me. I liked the quirky looks just enough to live with it so I took the chance but sadly the sound was bad compared to a Sonos One SL device which is a little disappointing considering it's basically the same price (I know this adds the lamp part but I think that can amount to 1/4 of the price at most).
But I could have lived even with the somewhat disappointing and muffled sound if it weren't for the real deal breaker for me, and it's that this lamp won't remember the last power state if the power is cut off (from a switch or a power outage) and this is annoying, even more if you use smart bulbs because you won't be able to control them from the app until you manually go and press the power button on each lamp every time this happens. That's a big issue for me and I suspect for many people out there.3
