The Newcomer did both of these and exceeded my high expectations for Ms. Andrews' work!!
The Newcomer was impossible to put down from start to finish and all the different threads of the story were braided together beautifully.
I adored almost every character in this novel from charming Maya to the annoying Oscar. All of them were perfect and enjoyable to get to know.
What I think I loved most about this novel is that the ending wasn't super rushed. It drew out a bit so that it didn't feel abrupt and I enjoyed that a lot.
I'd also read another story just about Vikki!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an eARC copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. ...more

I've been a few times and it's one of my most favorite islands and Trunk Bay is my favorite beach ever. I know, I'm such a tourist but I don't care. I love it so!
I also don't mind that she chose to write St. John as it was pre 2017 hurricanes and not as it is after. Some places have gone and some are still there but the charm remains the same. I understand why sent went the route she did and it doesn't detract from the story at all. However, I am sad my favorite St. John Brewery didn't make the list, their Tropical Mango Pale Ale is my favorite beer and I don't even LIKE beer.
My only slight ding is that Ayers and Ava really seemed similar to me in personality and type but it's a small quibble in the end.
If you enjoy Elin's other books OR want a beach escape as the temps head south, pick up this book. ...more
