This is a small comic-like thing about an event that happens within a story of mine called Tony's Story (which I hope to turn into a webcomic one day)
I wrote the original subplot before I could actually relate to it, but now I feel as if I can relate to Tony in this story. Hence why I drew this. I'm not as crushed over it as Tony is (Miles was his best friend, afterall) but it is still upsetting. Love tends to make people crazy and make them forget about their friends.

Very well illustrated and executed. It is certainly a situation in which we all can relate with to some degree for sure.
Love has a way of giving folks "Rose Tinted Glasses" that narrow their scope down to the one they are trying to most please. Sadly, unless the glasses come off, they fail to miss all that is left behind as a result of their narrow focus on one single target.
Something a good friend of mine shared is how people also have a tendancy to go so far for love that they will actually give up friends or things they love in order to be with the one they are attracted to. Sadly, this is not what love is about. True love means compromise, not loss. As such, one should never have to completely give up or neglect anything for a partner if that significant other truly does care about them for who and what they are.

Yeah, it's upsetting when people do that. If they change or fake core things about themselves just to be in a relationship with someone, it's never going to be happy and it's not going to work. A lot of people also don't seem to realize how important friendship is. Especially in relationships too. As we've talked about, you really can't have a solid romantic relationship, without being friends as well.
Luckily Miles and Emma are pretty much soul mates and their relationship works out great. However, him and Tony will never be as close as they used to be (This isn't the only reason, but it's a starting point. Their situation gets a bit complex.) but this isn't anyone's fault. I think people, especially in stories, are too quick to judge who is the good guy and the bad guy, but when it comes to the issues between Miles and Tony's friendship, there is no good guy or bad guy. It's a slice-of-life story, and like in reality, there often isn't a good guy or bad guy. Pretty much all the characters make mistakes in their lives (including Tony. Unlike most protagonists, he's far from perfect) , but they aren't bad people overall. I hope that when I do make it a webcomic, that the readers understand this.
