the camaro still had aways to go to be finished and this car is pretty much finished the paint is only a year old motor and trans has 150 miles on them they ar pretty much brand new

Because they are badass cars that's why. Considering the 80's Montecarlo SS is more wanted than the Camaro's of the same year. Mine was a beater compared to his and guys were still offering me a couple thousand for it. A well kept original can fetch $10,000 easy.

Monetary value doesn't mean a better car. Look at Lambos. They demand as much as Ferraris and they suck horribly.

Of course naturally a Camaro can beat a Montecarlo in any performance situation so can any Mustang, the difference is from a collectors standpoint which the Montecarlo wins out. Same with Ferrari vs Lamborghini. But I have yet to see a Superveloce vs Ferrari anything at the moment. Considering Ferrari's racing heritage and the fact the build several models were Lambo is only building a couple different models that's where the value comes from. So simply putting, value isn't totally based on performance. If that was the case we wouldn't see American cars from the 50's going for more than brand new Ferrari's and Lamborghini's.

Now there are four of us Montecarlo owners on FA that I know of. Mine is still in the worst shape of the bunch if you saw the pictures in my scraps area. But soon (a few years +) to be restored to ten times it's former badassery. Street legal and circuit ready.

That has me interested in how much you payed for it now. Because when I bought mine 12 years ago it had been stolen off the car lot two weeks before with the column punched and a bit of body damage from that indecent and I still payed $3,200.

its just for show now but not for long i have had a 454 sitting in my garage for awhile planining on doing alittle performance to it before it goes in though
