You forgot something. | Warmup
-She/Her-
This can be about anything you want it to. That's the nature of art. But to me it's about how bad my memory is. How easy it is to forget. And how it feels like you're fragments of yourself when you can't even remember yesterday.

I have an absolutely horrific memory that everyone in my life, even work colleagues, give me shit about to the point that it can be actually really upsetting/annoying. the only events I seem to actively and readily be able to remember are bad negative ones or really really good positive ones, neutral things or day to day stuff I forget, sometimes people ask if I can do something for them and I'll respond with "sure I'll do that on Thursday" but the moment that conversation ends, if I don't write it down that is long forgotten...
I have attributed it to a strong sugar intake/addiction. :X

Mm yeah. I attribute mine mostly to ADHD. But It's always been an issue for me.
I have a structure of coping mechanisms for it. And am keeping a journal so I won't forget everything. But it's messed up when someone talks to me about a conversation we had and I just.. don't remember it AT ALL.
I took a class in college and forgot about it within a year so completely that I thought it being on my transcript was an error.

i wish i could upvote this, because you and the person you replied to hit the nail on the head with what is likely a large number of people(myself included) who all have trouble remembering things. i have the same exact issue with remembering things, it's mostly really negative or really positive things, and the ones that are only middling haven't got a strong presence, nor are the day-to-day things saved. i honestly find that connecting a day-to-day thing with something you REALLY like doing can help you with it. like when i was doing weekly Dungeons & Dragons, i connected it to the day-to-day thing of taking the trash to the curb. linked the two things, so one triggers the other. hope that helps with others that may have the same problem.
