I've wanted to upload this picture for a while, but I had to do some major "surgery" on the image because I made some mistakes that couldn't be overlooked. One big one being that I drew my own character’s missing paw on the wrong side, go figure. Luckily it wasn’t too awful to fix after the fact, aside from shading being messed up little. Also, my bestest-good-friend
colby-hedgey pointed out that I had Bogie’s eye colors reversed too. >_< I tried to fix it the best that I can.
This is just some more practice on expressions and attempting a few new things. There's not too much different from my usual drawings with the exception of maybe some airbrushing and playing with "background."
Bogie is a very trusting, sweet, curious little guy. He always looks for the best in everyone. This makes him exceptionally vulnerable.
Bogie lives in an orphanage.
One day, the big kids told Bogie they'd show him how to tie his shoes. Bogie was really excited to learn so he eagerly accepted. The big kids had other ideas. Instead of showing him how to properly tie his shoes, they tied his laces together. Not knowing any better and in his excitement, Bogie leapt up to go toddle around only to fall several times, banging his knees and gigantic noggin on the hard floor.
Bogie has nobody that he can go to tell what happened so he's sitting there sobbing next to his grimey little Dubby bear. I think his desperation shows.
He's always hopeful that someone will want him and adopt him some day.
I was bullied relentlessly from kindergarten through high school. Everything that bullies could exploit they did: the way I looked, dressed, spoke, my name, etc. This isn't a sob story, I just wanted to use my drawing maybe as a little catharsis along with my continued practice.
If you"re being bullied and/or see someone being bullied, say something, do something.
