I'd say the entire point of this style IS to 'almost reveal'.
Creates the feeling of "if only this still was a half second later! The hand might have dropped, the tail might have moved!"
Instead, it captures that 'perfect timing' where the object is between them and the 'camera'.

Yep, you described it perfectly! The entire idea and zest of convinient censorship is that it is "accidentlal", unintentional covering. Character doesn't hide anything, viewer just ended up "in the wrong place, in the wrong moment". I also love to keep it on the very verge of exposure. Like if Eliza's hair movied just a LITTLE we could see her areola.

You are rigght, she loves them all. Also it doesn't mean other Alydia's children are pure humans. Just like Gedvin has Kitsune heritage that can suddenly show up, Alydia's human children are probably half-Okami and their wolf traits can show up too when less expected.
