Yeah! in short, she was a river deity/spirit and always helped local villagers with their watering needs but eventually unsustainable agriculture practices damaged the river to the point of poisoning the dragoness as well as the rest of the aquatic life. She was nurtured back to health by the locals but lost her magic powers and she's very bitter about the situation
