Song used: ''I Know A Place (The Creek Song)'' from Bluey
Appreciating a loved one, something your hold dear, or even just appreciating a tree outside is awesome because it shuts off your thoughts for a moment. All of a sudden that flurry of could haves and should haves is shut off and you're left with this nice calm stillness. Often times those moments last just seconds.
And now picture yourself as a 350 pound antelope. Waking up next to the equally heavy squirrel you've had a crush on since junior year. Instead of that calm lasting for seconds, it lasts for minutes, half an hour, maybe even a whole hour! Just listening to his breath rising and falling, knowing you can stay that way until breakfast. After all, who needs an alarm clock when a growl from either your or his belly does the trick just fine?
A bit of a personal painting I've been doing to recharge the art battery, Dennis and Elliot are characters I hold dear quite a bit, and I enjoy envisioning how their day-to-day life would look like. It really puts into perspective how much the little things really matter in the grand scheme of things. Those warm autumn mornings with the smell of freshly baked bread from the neighboring bakery wafting through your windows. Sharing that moment with somebody you love. You can't really put a price on that.
Well... That and being a squirrel with a tail so poofy it's practically a built in blanket. You are a lucky antelope, Dennis...
