It was a warm, spring day when Witzy, the baby duck, waddled out into the fenced-in backyard of his house.
“I wonder what we’ll find outside today?” Witzy asked his plushie pals, Boof, the teddy bear, and Lulla, the bunny rabbit.
KNOCK
KNOCK-KNOCK
“Ah!” awed Witzy as he heard something tapping upon the far side of his fenced-in yard. “What was that?”
SCAMPER-SCAMPER
“Wait, Witzy!” cried Boof in distress. “What if it’s a monster?”
“A monster?” worried Lulla. “I don’t see any monsters.”
KNOCK-KNOCK
KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK
“Huh?” wondered Witzy as he stopped his scampering towards where the sound was coming from. “I don’t see a monster. I just keep hearing a knocking sound.”
“I’m scared, Witzy,” Boof shivered. “I’d sure feel better if Patches were here with us.”
“I am here!” proclaimed Patches, the plush giraffe, as he stood in front of his friends. “I heard that knocking sound and wanted to see what it was.”
“Do you think it’s a monster?” asked a scared Boof.
“Only one way to find out,” Patches replied while facing towards the fence. “Follow me!”

Witzy ran with his plushie pals until they all came to a stop a few feet in front of where the knocking sound was coming from.
KNOCK-KNOCK
KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK
“That’s really loud!” announced Lulla as she wrapped herself around Witzy’s body.
“I know!” agreed Boof after moving himself behind Witzy. “It’s got to be a monster!”
“Huh?” wondered Witzy as he noticed that there was a small door on his side of the fence. “I don’t remember seeing that before.”
KNOCK-KNOCK
Lulla joined Boof behind Witzy as the diapered duckling moved closer to the door that was just about a foot taller than he stood in height.
“Look everybody!” proclaimed Patches upon realizing that the knocking was coming from the other side of the door. “It sounds like someone is trying to visit with us!”
“Uh…,” gasped Witzy as he reached for the doorknob.
“No, Witzy!” Boof exclaimed while closing his eyes. “Don’t open that door!”
“…,” Lulla shivered anxiously from behind the daring duckling.
“Perhaps we should knock on the door, too?” suggested Patches.
“Good idea!” stated Witzy as he moved his hand from the doorknob, made a fist, and tapped on the wooden door.
KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK
“Hello!” called Witzy. “Is anybody there?”
KNOCK-KNOCK
“Hello!” another voice replied from the other side of the fence after it finished its own tapping upon the door’s opposite side. “Does anyone over there want to play?”
“Ah!” Witzy awed while reaching for the doorknob. “I’d love to play!”
KA-CLICK
CREE-CRICK
“Oh!” the green-and-white colored creature on the other side of the door gasped upon noticing the yellow duckling before him. “My name’s Yosh. What’s your name?”
“I’m Witzy!” the diapered duckling replied. “Want to come over to play with me and my friends?”
“Friends?” wondered the duck-beaked creature who, like Witzy, was only wearing a diaper around his waist.
“Yeah!” stated Witzy as he gestured towards his giraffe plushie. “This is Patches. He’s very brave. Behind me is Boof and Lulla.”
Yosh smiled before holding up a grey-spotted, cream-colored plushie of a chubby hamster.
“This is Oxnard!” he introduced. “He likes sunflower seeds.”
“Me, too!” said Lulla as she came out from behind Witzy. “Let’s play!”
NARRATOR:
It looks like Witzy has made himself a new friend named Yosh. I wonder what fun they’ll get up to?
