Jack lost sight in her left eye in the early 2000s. She used to be very self-conscious about it, to the point that, for the first few years, she wouldn't go outside without wearing sunglasses or an eyepatch. She grew more comfortable about it over time, but someone poking fun at her disability is still a huge sore spot for her... Whether it was intentional or not.
If you've never played D&D and wonder what rolling a nat 1 on a Diplomacy check looks like, this is it.

Page 2 of my latest commission. When I tried to convey to Marett the mixture of anger and outrage Jack should be displaying in that last panel, I used Yellow Diamond's angry face as a reference. I love how deliciously pissed off she looks as a result; thinking of it, this is the first time she's ever been depicted showing true anger rather than mere annoyance.
No points for guessing what happens next, fellas.
