The moogle placed the snacks on the nearby couch table, all the while he scanned the living room. No real sign of his two friends. Didn't look like they left either, Zeelo even left his glasses!
Erakir noticed them immediately on the scattered about books.. which also had a peculiar pair of socks laying on them. "Huh? I don't remember leaving these out.. I don't recall having these in the first place!"
Erakir picked up Zeelo's glasses and put them on the couch table, then picked up the pair of mismatched socks.. something about them felt familiar.
The colours, patterns.. Erakir looked over the pile of books, too.
Zeelo and Cody both called out to Erakir. "Hey! Erakir!" Zeelo added, "It is us! Could you turn us back?" Cody noticing with a little awkward giggle. "Ehe, looks like he can't really hear us.."
"Oh!" Erakir exclaimed, he scanned over the book that was wide open, reading the spell.
"Polymorphing spell to turn into socks, huh? So that's what you've been up to!" Erakir held the two socks in front of his face with a smile.
"Oh good, he noticed!" Zeelo let out a sigh of relief, at least he would if he could sigh as a sock, but figuratively still counts.
Only then for Erakir to chuckle more. "Guess you wanted to try out what it is like, hm? Don't you two worry! This little hangout might be a bit longer now, but hey! Can't just take away from this new experience you wanna try!"
"W-wait, it was an accident Erakir!" Cody attempted to call out but of course was not really heard.
Zeelo awkwardly had to state exactly that. "U-uhm, remember, he can't hear us.. so guess we g-gotta- ahh!" the former snow leopard's thoughts were interrupted as Erakir slipped the snep sock over his paw, pulling up nice and tight.
"Gosh you sure fit really well!, really comfy and warm too!" Erakir had to mention before slipping the other sock on too, Cody equally surprised and flustered from suddenly being worn on his friend's paw.
"T-this feels rather uh, strange." Cody chuckled a little awkwardly.
"I'll say.." Zeelo added, a bit awkward himself before Erakir hopped up and took his first steps with the new pair of comfortable socks. Zeelo and Cody felt the weight of Erakir's hop and few steps he took.
It really felt peculiar, rather soft, being pressed into the carpeted floor with each step, it wasn't quite as if their faces were smushed into the soft flooring, it was hard to describe.
"This will be a strange day-" Zeelo thought.. that is if this was only going to last for a day..

The moogle cleaned up some, put the books back, all except the one that caused the transformation of his friends.
Then he sat on his couch, kicked up his legs with his newly socked up paws and started to enjoy a nice movie while digging into the snacks.
"You know socks, I'd offer you some snacks, too, but I don't think you'd appreciate all the crumbs!" Erakir giggled and teased.
Cody and Zeelo would chuckle awkwardly, inaudibly to Erakir. At least Erakir placed his paws up well so the two could kind of watch the movie themselves, too.
The three were still hanging out, albeit in a different way.

After the movie times went on for a while, Erakir stretched some and decided he'd get things cleaned up and himself ready for bed, the two newly made socks followed along every step of the way.
By the time Erakir started to head off to sleep, he pulled the pair of socks off his paws and placed them somewhat haphazardly onto an open dresser drawer of his among other clothes.
Socks, stockings, scarfs.. it was a soft and warm place that is for sure. The moogle placed Zeelo's glasses on top of the dresser, too and smiled at his friends-turned-socks.
"We'll hang out some more tomorrow, too, I'll be sure to make it a fun day!"
"T-thanks, uhm-" Cody stuttered, "Guess we're in for another day?"
Zeelo chuckled a little nervously. "Something tells me it might be more than just another day."

During the inactivity, Cody and Zeelo talked to each other a bit about this predicament until they too started to drift off asleep.
They slept really well, too, as the first thing that woke them up wasn't the light from the sun or Erakir's alarm clock, it was the feeling of movement and having them pulled over moogle paws as first thing shortly after Erakir woke up.
"Alright, time to get going!" Cody and Zeelo barely had much time to think or wonder about what Erakir meant exactly before they both ended up in Erakir's boots!
It was pretty dark all of a sudden, but actually comfy? Those boots are made for long travels so they had to be accommodating for the moogle's paws, luckily that translates into an unexpected, albeit pretty weird comfort for the pair of socks that got stuffed in there.
"I-I guess we are going somewhere today?" Cody finally managed to get some words out, to which Zeelo responded with a simple. "Yep. Looking like it? Not that I can really see in this uh.. boot environment."
It was pretty clear that Erakir made sure to give the two a full round of experience, sure he thought this was deliberate, so the moogle just felt he definitely had to sate his friends' curiosity!
They wouldn't have turned themselves into socks if they didn't actually wanna be socks.
The former snow leopard and Technimal fox had no clue where they were headed, while for Erakir it was just a regular morning routine walk of some small wandering the local park and some shopping.

The hike took a bit of time, it was pretty warm out too, with warm socks on Erakir's paws sure needed a bit of airing out and so did his socks. Cody and Zeelo didn't really notice much of it other than feeling slightly soaked. Erakir arrived home and took his boots off, and pulled his two friends off his paws, too. "Alright you two, put you through a bit there, I think it is time I give you a bath before anything else."
"A bath?!" Cody and Zeelo both exclaimed, the alien fox with some more confusion in his tone. "This has to do with water.. right? That's uhm, scary. How does one bath socks?"
Cody wondered, Zeelo chuckled a bit awkwardly unsure how exactly to explain this and very much distracted by the thought of how this will even feel. "Uhm, guess we both will find out in a moment."
And sure enough, the moogle brought the two into the washroom of his house, where they are swiftly dropped into the nearby washing machine along with some other clothes belonging to Erakir. Bit of laundry detergent dropped on top and in almost no time Cody and Zeelo found each other in a wash cycle.
And it was pretty chaotic, too, mixed in with other clothes the two got tossed and rolled about in there, soon dunked in water, soaked in nicely smelling soapy water that is.
Cody panicked at first but quickly realized that water didn't really affect his new fabric form. Him and Zeelo both quickly found out as well that even submerged they didn't need to worry about anything.
They were clothes after all, clothes didn't need to worry about being stuck in a wash cycle. The only thing that could be criticized about this experience is the moment the machine started to spin a lot.
Being squished between clothes to have a lot of water pressed and swung out wasn't exactly something to recommend to anyone.
Luckily this only happened.. like twice, with all the turning, swimming, washing and sensations that flooded their perception during this near two hour wash.
The two socks were glad when finally things came to a standstill and they got to just hang out in the sun to dry.. quite literally as Cody and Zeelo found themselves hung up on a clothesline.
Their eyes figuratively spinning from the dizzying experience. It sure took them a bit to recover from this kind of ordeal.

By evening Erakir got the laundry inside, the two socks included. Neatly folded and placed in his drawer alongside everything else.
The drawer closed and Erakir left with Cody and Zeelo left among themselves for the moment.
"So.. you think he'll turn us back still?" Zeelo asked a bit with wonder and some concern, to which Cody responded with some uncertainty. "Well I sure hope. How much more would he want to do with us?"
Cody thought for a moment before continuing. "Like, I mean, it seems he thinks we wanted to do this, so I guess he's just trying to be a good friend?"
"Maybe, yeah." Zeelo considered this statement. "But knowing Erakir, he might also just go overboard with this..?"
Cody chuckled nervously and could only agree with an awkward. "Yeaaah, hopefully not?"

They at least found out so soon enough.
Erakir came back after a bit, opening the drawer to get Cody and Zeelo out, pulling them on his paws swiftly before hopping on his bed, book at the ready to read while getting comfortable.
"Now, time to read up on that spell you used, haven't read this book in a while!"
"But he is reading it! Gotta look into how to turn us back for sure!" Cody exclaimed, Zeelo chuckled with a bit of hope that this is true.
After a while of Erakir reading, he stretched and put the book aside. "That was a fun read!" The moogle looked to his socks, rubbing his paws together teasingly.
"Hmm, the book didn't have a reversal spell written in, that was in the continuation of this one, which I have laying around somewhere. I'll look for it later! For now, you know, with how comfy you are I might keep you like this a while longer!"
Erakir smiled happily. "So glad you chose to try being socks! Guess we'll hang out together more often now!" The moogle hopped out of bed to get himself a snack.
If Cody and Zeelo could, they'd exchange glances with each other. "You know.." Zeelo started, "part of me really already expected this for some reason."
"I-I guess we're in it for the long haul then, huh?" Cody chuckled a little nervously, but tried to see the positive in it. "At least this will be quite the experiment, don't get to be socks any day now, right?"
Zeelo couldn't help but point out. "Well technically we're going to be socks every day for probably quite a few days now.."
