A couple of adventurers setup camp in the evening and tied off their horses. Unfortunately neither of them
rolled high enough on their perception checks to notice the Tracks that were near their camp before they
settled in for the night. The two adventurers had their fill and drank in excess which let them sleep quite
heavily into the evening and morn.
Twas in the late morning that they felt the consequence of their dice rolls when they saw that their horse was
missing. When they rolled survival to try to check for tracks they succeeded with the lowest of rolls. The
beast in question that took their horse did so w/o subtlety, leaving a drag path through the woods where
all the fauna, leaves, brush, twigs, dirt, were completely disturbed as if a woodland trail had been created.
The two adventurers followed the path with ease where they came across a bizarre structure with an equally
as strange entrance. The path of blood continued into the hole where the two adventurers stopped to discuss.
Adventurer 1: "Well I think it's quite obvious where our fucking horse went..."
Adventurer 2: "Must be pretty big to have dragged our horse all this way too."
Adventurer 1: "Big or small we still need to get our shit back that we left in the saddlebags."
A pause as the dungeon master interrupts
DM: "And you two are just having this discussion outside the cave."
Adventurer 1: "Yeah, gotta come up with a battle plan."
As you two adventurers speak and discuss with one another outside the cave, in your normal everyday voices,
your voices start to echo into the cave. It doesn't take more than a few mere sentences when you start to hear
clicks and clacks, movement inside the cave. If you two are to take any action, you may have but mere moments
before something emerges from within.
Adventurer 1&2: "We roll stealth to hide!"
They both succeed, managing to dive into the brush and large fauna narely in time before the shadow walking
in the cave slowly emerges into the light. It's maw, face, and claws stained with the blood from what may of
been your horse. It's slitted eyes begin to pan from side to side, examining the surroundings. You recognize
the beast as a Dire Shurian.
DM: "It doesn't appear to have detected either of you, what do you do?"
