Personality: Viral Vector is quite cynical and belligerent and sports quite the violent streak when dealing with villains and criminals. Viral Vector feels no remorse in poisoning his foes to get them to comply or to prevent them from feeling and more often than not, he will fight with other heroes that try to get in his way. Despite all of this Viral Vector maintains a strict no-kill policy and always makes sure to carry antidotes for the toxins he produces as well as tending to the more severe injuries he causes during his fights. Viral Vector also seems to have a soft spot for Major Sirius… but don’t tell him you believe that.
Abilities: Poison and Pathogen Manipulation
Viral Vector’s blood and body is incredibly toxic and is host to all sorts of virulent pathogens that enhance his physical capabilities. His body can produce all sorts of poison that he can hurl out as projectiles or send them throughout his body, stimulating his muscles and using venom laced teeth and claws. Viral Vector himself is also highly resistant to other toxins and the pathogens Viral Vector hosts has made him immune to most diseases as well. Viral Vector is also capable of creating any antidote or antibody for the toxins and diseases he harbors or comes into contact with.
Weakness:
While Viral Vector has adapted to the pathogens that have taken host in his body, he is not completely immune to their effects. Using his toxic powers too much will overstimulate his muscles which can lead to injuries and muscle strain later on and if Viral Vector’s brain receives too much toxin he will enter a rabid state and lose control of himself. Viral Vector is also extremely confrontational and gets angry quite easily causing him to rush into fights with villains and even other heroes without much thought.
Background:
Jude was once an optimist scientist who specialized in the study of diseases and medicine, hoping to make his mark on the world by helping make incurable diseases curable. When Jude was hired to work in a lab for a well known pharmaceutical company, he eagerly took the position. However in the short time he was there, Jude noticed the strange behaviors of his higher ups, often speaking very little when disappearing into unknown parts of the lab. When he did his own sleuthing Jude discovered that his own bosses were producing experimental bioweapons and the skunk, not wanting to be associated with the potential deaths of innocent people, decided to whistleblow the company. However when his bosses confronted Jude about his actions and attempted to silence him, the resulting scuffle led to a mass outbreak and while Jude was able to get most of his co-workers to safety, he succumbed to the effects of the viruses.
However miraculously Jude woke up in a hospital bed, weak yet alive. The bioweapon, instead of killing him, mutated his own body giving him near immunity to other diseases, along with the ability to manipulate his own body to produce potent toxins and even weaponize different pathogens. However Jude soon found out that he was blamed for the mass outbreak that occurred at the lab and was presumed to have died as a result. Now with his former life destroyed and his name tarnished, Jude retreated to the shadows and became the vigilante, Viral Vector, with the sole purpose of getting revenge and to prevent others from suffering the same fate as him. Viral Vector is quite headstrong and won't hesitate to butt heads with criminals who seek to use drugs to harm others or even with other heroes who feel his methods are too "violent". Despite this, it's not uncommon to see Viral Vector begrudgingly work alongside Major Sirius who helps keep the skunk in check.
Adding in an anti-hero to my roster of superfurs this time, meet Viral Vector!
A skunk with a bit of a bad attitude, Viral Vector uses all sorts of nasty toxins to stop criminals and he isn't afraid of playing dirty!
It also seems that he's got the soft spot for the beloved Major Sirius!
But don't let him hear you say that otherwise you'll be in for a world of hurt, after all Viral Vector's got an image to keep up!
