These gouache postcards are part of a large series where I will be aiming to paint 100 landscapes. These were painted in 2024.
Postcard 78 Pansies - These beautiful flowers were part of the main display in the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers last year.
Postcard 79 Greenbank - Another creek bed from the foothills among the Springbrook foothills. This one was so vibrantly coloured from the vegetation along the river bed.
Postcard 80 Wire fence - We stopped on our way through to camp at Crow's Nest among the homesteads in the area. The landscape was very hilly with lots of gums and eucalypts growing along the highway.
Postcard 82 Humidty - Coming back from a camping trip at Leslie Dam near Warick we were hit with a namd of very severe thunderstorms. Before the rain hit the air was so heavy, with no breeze and heavy dark clouds rumbling overhead.

Thank you! They really are, these were thriving in Toowoomba, which is on a mountain range and a lot closer to the sun. The height creates a really high UV risk but didn't stop them from blooming at all! I have lost hardier plants when we lived there, but everything was doing so well.
You are whole world of artistic versatility!
Some of your paintings have incredible, razor-sharp precision of depiction,
while others are an impressionist oily aerosol that congeals around the basic idea!
Gorgeous purples on those prized flowers!
Toowoomba's Carnival sounds like the most fragrant and colorful thing in the world.
Their site has a bumblebee in a top hat!
The creek bed card such powerful and confident geometry with that diagonal threshold,
and its blue-green colors are hypnotically captivating!
Really impressive depth to that eucalypt grove.
And I remember you mentioning Crow's Nest – the only place in Australia without all that many crows around!
AndreaJae has mentioned it, and I echo the praise for that moody leaden sky in the lower right card.
The annotations for your paintings can be restful journeys to hidden vistas, or thrilling adventures.

It is a beautiful event! We have gone many years and lived in the city a few years ago, I have so many paintings to do from the scene there. The poppies in particular were incredible, so vibrant and so many pollinators around!
