There was no greater feeling than being behind the DJ set. Well maybe there were a few but not for Rani. Having control and mastery over the airwaves was one of the closest things to godhood in his eyes. Do you have any idea how good it feels to see a person jamming out to their favorite tunes or even just nodding along to something new they've grown to love? You have around three minutes to capture a person's ear and even if they don't love it today, who knows. If it's catchy enough maybe tomorrow will work for them hehehe.

"Ten seconds, big guy. Hope you're ready." He said to himself as he took a seat and cracked his knuckles. He made sure his mic was close and all lights were good before calming his nerves. The cars beneath him moved so quickly down the street, the trains full of people and the the few folks walking outside this time of night looked bored. It was time to perk up their evening.

"Hey hey hey ladies and gentlemen of the road! My name is Raninok, friends call me Rani! Welcome welcome to the Skytone Radio where my job is to make sure you're havin' a good time. This... is something I've been wanting to do forever. This was... I am at a loss for all the things I want to say here. Thinking of what I wanted to say and how. I'll start small. This is gonna be a vent tho, so be ready.
This picture is drawn by the amazingly talented and skilled  Nordbuster and is inspired by this pic here . I asked him to do that for me because I've been going through some hard times since this year began. I have had a terrible first month of 2024 and needed a little something to make me feel better. When I was growing up, the internet was still a young and wild kind of thing. Things loaded slow, there wasn't much to do, you had to wait for a youtube video to load for several minutes before you could play a few more seconds of it, it was crazy lol. But two things took my interest at that time, two things specifically helped me find my creative side. Anime and Furries.

Laugh all ya want but those things were freaking golden to me. But back then they were kinda cringe. Just a bit. Anime has blown up to be one of the biggest things ever these days (makes me laugh thinking back on how people called you weird for liking or watching it where as now you are weird for NOT watching it) and furries are making their way into a more positive light (I mean it's always been positive to me but I'm just some rando I guess lol). But back then, young me knew nothing of how to actually look for more anime or furry content so I was at a loss until I found out about Nightcore.

Nightcore is basically just taking a song, speeding it up and pitching the voice up and bam, new song. And it was popular. Seriously, look up some nightcore from the 2000's and that stuff all has over a million views. All I Ever Wanted was one of the best ones I remember. The actual video got taken down some years ago (Boooooo!) but I still found one with the picture and I love it. Another one I loved was Pretty Rave Girl. I liked this one in particular because of the furry girl around 12 seconds in. Man I loved that style. She looked so cool. Many years later I would find the original artist too. Everything comes full circle eventually.

These songs helped me build more of an interest in internet culture and also the respective Anime and Furry cultures. I would find out about sites like Deviantart and Furaffinity and just have fun. I just LOVED finding this stuff It was so cool. So interesting. So different. I didn't know any of this kind of stuff existed but dang was it awesome. Since I've been feeling a little down all of January, I needed to have just a little something to make me feel better. So I got some art made of a little piece of my past to make me smile. Make me feel good. And boy did it ever.

But hey. The past is in the past. You can never get it back. But I don't need to go back. I don't need a door. Just a window. That's enough for me.
It's been a challenging time for me everyone. Sorry to make this post a bit of a downer but I needed to get that out. I hope you at least enjoyed seeing a little bit of some random posters history. Maybe you liked the same thing I did. Maybe you cringed a little at some of that early 2000's madness..... Mwahahaha! Sucker! But for real Thanks for reading. A fav is appreciated haha. And show some love to Nordbuster! I always feel bad asking him to make these complex commissions but I neeeeeeed them! He's so good! Look at this! Ahhhh!
