Modern MapleStory is NOTHING like the Legacy game that took the world by surprise back in 2005 with open access Global.
Every character class has at least some form of DAKKA skill in their journey of growth. Whether a genuine starter skill as with Angelic Buster, or a middle-late tier skill for archers, or early middle with some pirate classes, DAKKA seems to be an essential for the modern version of the game, and I have the Archer Class and the Pirate Class to thank for that.
For Pre-Big-Bang, a BowMaster's strafe skill was thought of as the mid-tier dakka for all occasions, from general field hunting/grinding to party quests essentials to keep the damage rolling on the Boss while others like the As[Sins] and Mages hopped around and contributed to the damage roll while the Warriors tanked damage and kept the Boss aggroed on them so we damage dealers could keep alive. xD And later in what was once level capped 200, archers had Hurricane at their 4th job advance which if I remember right, was around Lv100 sumfin... I forgor... Legacy Maple does not exist any more, but some form of it like MapleRoyals still follows the old build and formula so I think it was around Lv100 or so... Never looked into Royals so I cannot confirm but back in the day, Strafe and Hurricane made me SMILE because it took away some of the tedium of grinding thru faster kills!
In fact around 2020 or so, there was such a STINK from the other character player types without a fast cycling ranged attacks that Nexon foolishly NERFED the above mentioned skills and upset we the DAKKA community! Supposedly in 2022 things like hurricane were reinstated with what we DAKKA lovers love... SPEED, and I'm wondering how this holds up for 2023 and 2024 modern maple?
I guess I'll find out when I sign up for the game again. xD
For nostalgia, here I've dropped my two lovelies, Mizuki and JettBlast in ... where else?... Henesys Hunting Grounds for TEH LOLZ!
If only my beloved archer Mizu had THIS KIND of dakka back in the day... omfg I would probably turned out more a Maple Addict than I was... kinda still am... xD
but yeah... Modern Maple with all of it's unbalance and a few flaws is still a cool MMO and I wanna get back to it. For now however, enjoy some nostalgic and yes HIGHLY imbalanced character types and game play for shiz and giggles via me to you!
