But not very nice…
It might have been mentioned before, but Mike and spicy food don’t exactly mix. Poor guy has a sensitive palate, and spice absolutely destroys him. Just because he’s a fire type doesn’t mean he’s suddenly immune to the body’s reaction to capsaicin, you know; it’s actually a quite common misconception that’s required many explanations in the past. But, just because he strays from spicy food doesn’t mean he never gets pranked or never makes mistakes. Or, in this case, is a victim to someone else’s mistake.
Matt took the squad - Mike, Lexi, and Xavier - to a diner after work one fateful evening. It was a place they’d never been to, but it was supposedly cheap and tasty, if a bit greasy. Mike liked to overeat and have room to stretch, so the others crammed in beside Matt. Xavier went for a steak, Matt for a burger, and Lexi for a seafood platter. Mike, happiest of all because he found breakfast burritos on the menu, ordered three of those. Now, they were spicy by default, but they could be ordered without any heat, which they were. Had it not been for things getting mixed up in a dinner rush, that’s the way it would’ve been delivered, too. Unfortunately, some of the finer deets got lost, and Mike found out the hard way that his burritos had a kick… !
What if it had been an allergy? What if there was some other imposed dietary restriction? Thankfully, Mike’s only issue is having his tongue on fire for a couple minutes, so far less of a complaint than what was possible. It’s a good thing this family’s not looking for trouble. No need to speak to a manager, nothing needs to be offered on the house, just… a few new burritos made the right way, please.
And maybe a glass of milk for the big guy.
