Sorcerers use arcane magic that comes from within. Be it a bloodline, inherant willpower, or some innate ability. Wizard use arcane magic through study and effort and much research and use other means to access it. Clerics use divine magic that is gifted to them by their god and channels through them. Druids like a cleric use divine magic but is gifted to them by nature itself as long as they maintain its rules. Lastly warlocks use magic gifted to them by a patron. A powerful being rhey are bound to through contract or some similar vibe and they now serve in exchange for basically channeling all of their power through their patron.
and ofcourse there are other nuances but those are the major core details. Each method has dif merits that shapes the class, such as a sorcerer has a small spell list but can cast any of them at will long as they have the slot and have a lot of flexibility and secondary modifications from their bloodline or just how they can configure their spell slots and easily modify their most immediate needs. while a wizard has to pre-prepare what spells they have access to each day, but can theoretically learn every spell in existence with time and study to add to their spellbook, and each spell can be specialized into absurd power by their specialization into it.
