It works well - Unlike the previous game it's actually much more viable due to the regenerating stasis, which is also upgradeable. I found that stasis spam was incredibly effective personally. Great for groups or the single annoying bastard.

Here's a tip:
Hold Aim, shoot for the shoulder with the javelin gun. Tap Alt fire, release aim. If you have the "special" upgrade for the javelin gun, this detonate the javelin and then disarm him.
