I swiped a little of it from Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic series. He blended stuff from all the old writers in his 20 year long comic saga. I've also been reading some of Burroughs hollow earth stories - one from a March 1942 pulp - Amazing. Was some story "Men of the Bronze Age"
