They are! As it happens, I'm wondering if I've got a new roost near my house because I've lived at my current address for nearly 8 years and saw about 4 bats flit past my window the other evening while brushing my teeth. I love a bit of wildlife so I'm really excited and hope they're a permanent fixture. Unless there was some temporary reason insects were there and they'd just come for a bite to eat.
