This is an illustration of a scene from The Incubus Prince, which is basically Sky's backstory. Its a story I've been working on for many years, but I've just recently started putting it on Toyhouse to edit and poke at it when I have the inspiration. Despite the calmness of this particular scene, its a pretty dark and traumatic story overall (also gets quite gorey and erotic in some parts, though I guess thats expected for a story about a sex demon haha). Even after months of editing though, its only about 1/8 done, so it probably wont be publicly available for a while.
I'm excited to share the story when its completed as I've put a lot of heart into it (its what I daydream about for probably 60% of my life lol), but for now, you might see more of these accompanying illustrations with a few snippets from the story. :>
"I still remember when we bathed by the river. It was a warm autumn, and your body was still healing from your injuries back in the Underworld. And as usual, you were very solemn and distant.
Being my cheeky self, I decided to splash some river water on you with my tail. I guess I thought it would lighten the mood a bit. I expected you to get annoyed with me, but instead I saw something that I've never seen in the months we were together.
I saw you smile and laugh for the first time.
In that moment, I saw you forget your pain, everything you endured, the horrors we faced. It seemed so trivial, only lasting a few seconds, but the feelings it gave me were indescribable. The joy I saw on your face made my world brighter. Everything about you was suddenly so beautiful and captivating, it almost didn't feel real. You were so radiant, and I couldn't stop staring. Just being with you, surrounded by the beauty of nature, felt like a dream. Is it possible for demons to feel this way? I don't know.
But all I could think of was protecting that smile. I wanted to help you learn how to enjoy life again. To see you achieve the dreams you told me about. I wanted to share my happiness with you, and make new memories with you. You gave me a new purpose in life, when I felt lost myself.

Now, a part of me is curious about the day both Sky and Keith first met... Seeing as he's an Incubus, did the former originally only see the latter as a means to have the usual sexual intercourse that most of his incubi/succubi kin, or was he brought to Keith's side for a different purpose? Either way, I'm certainly interested to see that... ^^

Haha, it's a long story, but Keith actually didn't like Sky at first, so he didn't want anything to do with him xD
But before Sky kinda acted like a typical incubus. He slept around a lot, though he was also in the entertainment industry at the time so that kinda goes hand in hand haha.
He basically goes through a major character arc with Keith and kinda changes his whole perspective on things for the better. (it's a vague explanation but it makes more sense in the story xD)

I mean... I can imagine why Keith wouldn't like Sky when they first met if he's the usual sex-obsessed demons most incubi and succubi are. After all, being haunted by one such creature whom you have little-to-no feelings for would be very irritating...and potentially horrifying...!
Can't wait to see how the script flips with these two and they end up falling for each other! ^^
