T'was the night before Christmas, two years ago now
We shared here a story, of Yule sightings avow
Late one night, in a dark suburb block
All was asleep, at Midnight o'clock
But lo, one lone child would awaken,
Woken by something, a sound unmistaken.
Carefully, out of her bed she then crept,
Careful, as rest of the house they still slept.
Putting on slippers, she sought to a pause,
Was that the sound of good old Santy Claus?
Eager to see the jolly red man,
Out through her door, and downstairs she ran.
There she would see, by the bright adorned tree,
A big shaped box, oh my, could it be?
With caution to the wind, her hands got to work,
The lid of the present flew off with a jerk
Inside the box, was a big stuffed bear,
A raccoon, with arms out, a gesture of care
That night, she might not have seen big old Claus,
Instead, on the floor were the tracks of big paws.
