From the stone in the background, it almost looks like some ancient chamber, especially with the writing on that one wall.
Though I have no knowledge as to the design of ancient bookshelves, the one behind him give his room a somewhat modern feel.
Can't tell if it's a plant or a sculpture on the left, though I may be distracted.
He has a very fancy writing implement, is the design your own or is he depicted with having such a shiny thing in his hand?
