By the Second Year of the War with the Void Born Empire, it was to everyone painfully clear, that the Alliance Carrier Fleet was painfully outdated and small. New Ships were bitterly needed at this point. Luckily, with the new War Policy's, New Ships could be produced without the bickering of the Senate. One of the new Ships born out of this was the "Basileus"-Class Battle Carrier. Gadron Naval Yards, the Shipyard responsible for the Carrier, tried multiple concepts, before one Engineer stumble over the plans of the old "Valiant"-Class Battle Carrier. It was a working concept and many Engineer's decided to improve the "Valiant"-Class Design. With nearly limetless founds now, Gadron Naval Yards completed the first "Basileus"-Class Carrier in a relativly short time and full scale producing started soon after.

In contrast to the "Valiant"-Class, the "Basileus"-Class have a more "Conventional" design, without the Launchbays on each side on the rear of the ship. Instead, the Launchbays where moved towards the bow. Landings would occour on a Angled deck. The "Basileus"-Class have more Firepower than her predecessor and thicker Armorplatting. It soon turned out the new Carrier would fullfill all expectactions put into it and more Shipsyards with free capacity's have been obliged to build as many Carriers of this Class as possible.

During the first actions including the "Basileus"-Class, 4 Ships joined the Fleet of Grandadmiral Fer'ina and her Flagship, the only "Valiant"-class Battle Carrier "Glorious Of Light". It was a surprise attack on a Supply Station and Docking Warships of the Imperial Navy. But as the Fighters and Bombers were on route, a heavy detachment of Patrol ships jumped out of Hyperspace and immidiatly engaged the Alliance Carrier Group. If the Fleet would have been compoused out of Old Carriers, it would immidiatly turned into a Bloodbath. But the "Basileus"-Class was constructed with something like this in mind and the Void Born Ships were in for a rude awakening! The Heavy Turbolasers of the Carriers turned the first two Cruisers into a Debrisfield, before they realized they engaged a new Warship Type and turned away for a hasty retreat, but not before losing another Cruiser and a couple of Destroyers! In their first engagment, the "Basileus"-Class proved her worth and accomplished also the Missionobjectivs.

With Massproduction of the "Basileus"-Class now in full swing, more and more Carrier Groups get outfitted with the new ships. But despite being far superior Ships, Grandadmiral Fer'ina refused to replace her Flagship with a new Ship. As new and good the "Basileus"-Class may be, they are not yet the Symbol of Hope the Ship of the Grandadmiral....
