For those who haven´t followed me on Twitter (which I insist to do it >w>) I´ve mentioned that after all the news that Pokemon brought up and how some youtubers high light the charm of the games, despite of their weakness in the games, I kinda wanted to do some pokemon fanarts to also practice a bit with some mixing techniques, like adding colors with soft shades into some intempt of inking style XDc
So to start, I´ll draw my favorite grass type Pokemon, Rillaboom, executing its move of Drum Beating.
For me monkeys are funny and curious wild animals, so my starter was of course Grookey (Usually I choose my starter for what I see as them as babies, not because of how it looks the final evolution, I always avoid knowing that) And the fact that ended up as a gorilla instead of a similar primate as Infernape, I was grateful and felt all rewarding XDc Not to mention that he reminded me to Donkey Kong, and when I do that I can´t stop hearing DK soundtrack, which happens to be one of my favorites in the games´OST.
So there we have it! Which grass type pokemon is your favorite and why? owo

After 300 characters I've stopped following the POKÉMON stuff... I'm more a guy from the first 1-3 seasons! ^^"
The original POKÉMON are still the best.
But I like two aspects of your drawing very much:
1) The hard contrast
The black line art and shading is typical for 90s comic books and that's what I grew up with. Especially the "saw like" lines coming out of the black parts... those are great! Those lines support the shape of the body part and they also work as shading layer. As you can see, I've used the same style here:

2) Dynamic movement
The pose is very dynamic! Most of all, the vines and body motion is just "swuuuush" and it goes around and around. The overall dynamic is pretty cool!
Nice job!!

Hahah well kinda the same thing with me. Along with the anime, in game I only played the first 3 games, and I´ve stopped ever since because in the game I didn´t afford the console to play it and in the anime it was sad sad that I didn´t get too see my favorite trio together ^ ^º
But after so many years I wanted to play a pokemon game to see how was it XD
Thanks for the feedbacks : 3 I did got inspired with the old inking style as you mentioned XD but I gues I could apply them better later on, like choosing the right spots to add the black spots and also knowing where is the right direction for those saw like lines to define certain volumes without the need of strong shades. It´s still hard for me to get use it it but I´ll see how it goes along owo

Rillaboom was also my go-to starter for Sword and Shield, so that is great to know we had similar tastes. Someone like Samurott should look awesome in your style too. Also, what makes Rillaboom awesome looking, is the fact he looks like a Super Saiyan 3 from Dragonball Z/Super. I mean, given that Saiyans are "monkeys" and can turn into full monster apes at full moon, the comparison is apt!
Chandelure is my favorite pokemon from favorite typing, Ghost. I like it because firstly I think the entire evolutionary like is cute especially Litwick, who literally has melted wax forming an emo bang. But more importantly I think it has a lot of potential of having a Gingantamax form and Hisuian variation, that Game Freak keeps passing up to promote Charizard or Pikachu for the 1000th time. Like imagine a Hisuian version of Chandelure, based on a Lantern Yokais.
I must admit that at some point where I started to get not interest in Pokemon was because they were doing items into pokemons, like Icecreams, a bag of trash, cake, etc etc. But I admit that from the ghost types like Chandelure does more sense because it could be a spirit possessing an item, which makes that sounds more cooler owo
That idea of making a Chandelure´s hisuan version sounds more promising as you describe it >w< that could´ve been awesome.
