Spring had come a few weeks early in Equestria. Many of the weather Pegasi throughout the region had worked extremely hard to help bring in sunnier skies and prevent more snow from falling across cities and villages scattered throughout the nation. Even the sky above Blue Rift was much clearer than usual. The absence of rain clouds meant that a large chunk of the village’s population were out and about, enjoying the weather.
Despite the lack of gray sky and rain, Blazing Cobalt had decided to sleep in on this particularly beautiful Saturday morning. The blue furred unicorn was sprawled out on the couch inside of his stallion’s cottage and was drooling a bit in his sleep. Even with two voices happily chatting from just outside an open window on the other end of the room, the unicorn slumbered on. Every now and again his hind leg twitched and he shifted. Birds continued to chirp as the sounds of hooves impacting the still slightly frozen dirt grew a little bit louder.
“I don’t think you’ll have to worry about weeds, Blackie. The spell I cast last summer should still be in effect.” A mare’s soft voice called from the front of the cottage.
“Thanks so much for doing that. I should have had somepony help with this ages ago. Would have saved me so much time and energy.” A massive earth pony responded, his heavy hooves sinking into the grass that had until very recently been covered in white snow.
Blackout stopped walking to take in the sight of his property, pleased with the lack of weeds taking advantage of the seasonal change. Up until last year removing weeds from his garden and his yard as a whole was a major problem that interfered with his quite busy lifestyle acting as the towns ‘handystallion’. He stood a few hands over most other ponies and was almost twice as broad. His mane and tail were chocolate brown, and his body was covered in shades of dark and light gray fur. Despite his size and strength, Blackout was quite gentle and caring to those around him.
His soft blue eyes glanced down towards the mare who had stopped beside him to look around as well. Her height was average, but that only put the tip of her horn just below Blackout’s chin. She had a brilliantly purple coat of fur and bright red eyes. Her mane and tail were black with a hot pink highlight cutting through. The three ponies had spent most of the previous day together and enjoyed each other’s company immensely.
“It’s not a problem,” Velocity said, leaning up to kiss her stallion on the chin. The earth pony grinned happily allowed his tail to wrap around the unicorn’s for a few seconds. “We should go wake up Blaze~ We had plans today.”
The two ponies giggled and walked out from the yard and towards the front door of the cottage. Velocity didn’t bother opening the door quietly and simply trotted into the room where the cobalt blue stallion slumbered. The much larger equine stepped inside and gently closed the door by nudging it with his broad forehoof before following her towards the couch.
The mare grinned mischievously and approached the unconscious unicorn. “Blaaaaaaaze~ wakey wakey~ Time to get up, you lazy bum!” She had to duck quickly as the stallion’s tail swatted at her as if she were an annoying fly.
“Allow me,” The gigantic stallion said, chuckling as he approached the couch and began to clamber onto it. He plopped his body onto the sleeping mass and grinned as he felt Blaze squirm and thrash under his chest. “Mmmm…. You awake, babe?” He teased, wiggling his body, and laughing along with the purple furred mare nearby.
“Get…. Off!” Blaze snarled, kicking, and squirming as Blackout simply lay there, nuzzling his mane and giving his ear a playful nibble. The earth pony feigned deafness for a few moments, beginning to drag his tongue along the unicorn’s black mane. Blaze continued to struggle stubbornly, attempting to prevent the much larger and stronger stallion from grooming his mane mere seconds after waking him up.
“But I’m so comfy… Oh, fine~ If that’s what you want….” Blackout slumped off of the smaller stallion and back onto the floor. He grinned down at the grumpy looking unicorn, who was now rubbing his eyes with his hooves and frowning.
The mare got closer and pressed her lips against Blaze’s as he opened his eyes again. His frown melted away almost at once and he kissed her back. “Good morning, sleepy head.” She whispered, nuzzling into him, and feeling his arms wrap around her body.
“Morning, Vel,” Blaze’s eyes widened a bit as the earth pony pulled both of them into a hug and kissed both of their foreheads. “Morning, Black.” The unicorn added, not attempting to squirm out of the muscular stallion’s grasp this time.
“You know what today is, right?” Blackout asked the still groggy unicorn, a happy grin on his face.
“Saturday…?” Blaze muttered, feeling himself get released. He and Velocity plopped onto the couch together and cuddled up, enjoying each other’s warmth.
“C’mon, Blaze~ You didn’t forget did you?” The mare ran a hoof playfully down his chest and rested it on his leg. The stallion’s fiery eyes flashed and he smirked towards her.
“Oooh! I almost forgot… You still wanna do that, dude? I mean, I know Vel is totally down but…” He trailed off, seeing the eager grin on his lover’s face.
“I’ve always wanted to see them in their natural habitat… And besides, how many ponies can say they’ve even been to their world?” Blackout asked, plopping himself on the other side of Velocity, smiling as she embraced him as well.
“Just Blay and I~ We were only there for an hour or so though. Was more of a… well…” Her cheeks went scarlet as she thought back to that day and all the fun they had had together.
“We didn’t really explore much. Kinda just… enjoyed ourselves at their expense.” The blue unicorn smirked towards his mare and gave her a playful wink.
“Oooh! I see~ Well, I suppose then this’ll be a fun time for all of us if you haven’t really seen much of their planet.” Blackout said with a wide grin on his face.
For a few moments, the ponies simply lay there and cuddled one another, occasionally offering each other a kiss or loving nuzzle. A beam of sunlight shined through one of the windows, causing Blaze to squint and glance away. He shifted a little and felt Velocity bury her head into his soft chest. “I’m ready if you two are.” The unicorn said, gently stroking the mare’s mane with his hoof.
“I’m good whenever~” Velocity said, relaxing her body against the smaller of the two stallions and enjoying the feeling of his hoof stroking her mane.
“Well, let’s get going then, cuties. I can’t wait to see those little bugs in their natural habitat.” The massive stallion got off the couch and the whole room shook the instant his hooves hit the wooden floor. He beamed down at his lovers as they too stood up. Blaze stretched and yawned, running a hoof through his mane to try to tame it, but found that Blackout’s saliva was making it a fruitless effort. The gigantic gray and brown furred equine watched the smaller ponies gather themselves for a few seconds before walking to the other side of the room and retrieving the saddlebag he had decided to bring along on the trip.
Blaze walked past the earth pony, nuzzling against his arm for second before exiting the cottage. Velocity giggled and gave the stallion another kiss on the chin, her red eyes fixed on his blue ones. “This is going to be so much fun~” She said, giving him an eager grin and walking out after Blaze.
The cobalt blue unicorn was already getting to work by the time the others approached. His horn was gleaming with magical energy and he had a look of intense focus on his face. The spell he and Velocity had perfected in secret was very dangerous and highly advanced magic. Blaze doubted that most unicorns would be able to perform it at all. The mare walked a bit closer and smiled as before her very eyes a tear in the fabric of reality seemed to open a few feet in front of Blaze. He grunted and dug his hooves into the dirt, shaking a bit due to the effort he was exerting. The shimmering aura of magic began to swirl, forming what was unmistakably a portal.
“How come it takes so much more effort to go to their world? I know you two have ‘invited’ some of them here in the pat.” Blackout whispered towards the purple mare, his eyes still on Blaze while he continued to open up the portal.
“We are much larger for one thing- but it’s a little different using magic to scan an area and drag a small chunk through. This is maintaining a connection between worlds. It still takes a lot of effort; it’s just Blaze and I have had years of practice.” Velocity said with a playful grin.
With a sudden jerk of his head, Blaze forced himself back and saw the magical flow instantly cease. The portal was stable, but the unicorn was panting with the effort of altering time and space to such a degree that they would be allowed to exit their universe and enter another. Velocity gently stroked his cheek and smiled. “I can do the exit portal, Blay.” She said softly, feeling him rest his head against her for a moment or two.
“Yeah. You better…” He panted, looking towards the mass of swirling magical energy. Blaze caught his breath and stepped a bit closer to the portal to make sure he had done it correctly.
Blackout’s eyes were wide with astonishment as he too approached the portal his lover had opened up. The earth pony knew very little about magic, but he was aware that teleportation was a commonly used form of it. That was almost exclusively for short to medium distances, however. He gave Blaze an approving pat on the back and smiled brightly. “You did great, Blaze. So we just walk through?” He asked, glancing towards Velocity.
“Yep! You can go through with me if you’re nervous, Blackie.” She replied, an encouraging smile on her face. The larger stallion nodded his head and watched Blaze continue towards the portal, glancing back at them.
“I’ll go first. See you in a sec.” The blue unicorn stepped through the portal and vanished instantly. Blackout’s tail wagged with excitement as he pondered what they would do first on the alien planet. Velocity began towards the portal as well, Blackout on her left side as they walked closer and closer. The huge earth pony felt his mane gently blowing, as if the portal were emitting some sort of soft breeze towards him. The magical energy was so potent that it was felt by both ponies. Velocity guided him forward and her tail wrapped around his as they stepped through.
“W-Whoa….” Blackout muttered to himself, feeling his body compress and stretch, seemingly in all directions as bright lights surrounded him. It was as though he were being sucked through a tube at a speed so fast that he soon had to close his eyes to not feel sick. As everything began to spin and tighten around him he felt Velocity press against him in a reassuring sort of way. After what seemed only a few seconds later, Blackout felt everything stop spinning, and the clenching feeling in his gut subsided at once. He opened his eyes and looked around, noticing that the trees that were just surrounding them were gone. The only thing he could see around him was grass and a few hills. Here and there he spotted a puddle, but otherwise the scenery was quite dull.
“This isn’t the area we appeared on last time, Blaze.” Velocity commented, looking around as well. The blue unicorn was a few steps away and had a small frown on his face.
“I noticed. Huh. Guess the portal isn’t as precise as we thought, babe. But this is definitely the same world.” Blaze lifted a hoof and pointed down at the ground just to his right.
Blackout and Velocity curiously approached and leaned in to see what he was pointing at. Velocity suddenly giggled but the earth pony simply furrowed his brow and cocked his head. “Is that… a…”
“A city? Yep~ We told you they were small.” Velocity said with a grin on her face. She rested her large purple hooves near the tiny object on the ground and simply stood there, looking at them.
“A whole city… Wow… When you said they were like bugs I didn’t think you meant they were THAT small… Jeez, they are like… Dust mites or something.” Blackout said, leaning in as close as he could without laying down. His blue eyes squinted to take in the tiny mass of objects laid before him. It was like a type of gray moss spread across the ground. The whole thing was a bit larger than the circumference of his hooves, but not by much. Blackout could see the tiny buildings now that he got a bit closer. They reminded him of the ones he saw in Manehattan or Baltimare. However, the skyscrapers in the tiny city were more akin to grains of rice than to the giant structures he had been impressed with when he had traveled across Equestria.
“Dust mites. Yeah. That about sums them up. They don’t have magic or anything. Makes it pretty easy to just do this.” Blaze lifted his hoof up and Blackout only had time to glance upward before the unicorn stepped down onto the city and chuckled. There was a loud CRUNCH! And dust flew out in all directions. Blaze ground his hoof side to side for a few second and lifted it to see just how much damage he had caused. Blackout’s eyes went wide as the city was completely gone. Most of it had survived the initial stomp but the shockwave had finished the job. All that was left was a hoof shaped crater.
“Awwww, come on, Blay. Don’t be a jerk to them. We are here to tour the planet, not torment the bugs that live on it. Keep that up and Blackie won’t be able to check any of their cities out.” Velocity said, playfully reprimanding her stallion as he grinded his hoof on the ground to dislodge dirt and rubble.
“I guess so. Not my fault they feel so good underhoof, though.” Blaze snapped back, a grin on his face as Velocity brushed against him and gave him a brief kiss on the lips.
Blackout stood back up to full height and looked around, still a bit startled at how easily his lover had squished an entire city full of mite sized creatures. “Oh! I see another!” He said, eagerly stomping towards a smaller gray patch a few steps away. The unicorns exchanged a look and followed closely behind, only somewhat attempting to avoid smaller towns in their path. The land for hundreds of miles around them shook violently with every devastating step they took. 12 mountainous hooves continually pounded against the fragile crust of the tiny planet and sank deep into the ground, uprooting forests, and cities alike.
“Ooooh! Good eye, Blackie! That’s a big one.” Velocity squeed, looking down at it as soon all three ponies loomed miles above, staring down at a city of just less than a hundred thousand. In comparison to the city Blaze had very recently stomped out, this one was much smaller. Hundreds of tiny buildings littered the metropolis and there were no doubt thousands of panicking creatures inside it gazing upwards at them and screaming in horror.
The powerfully built earth pony’s hooves rested a few miles outside the city, yet the impact of them caused windows to shatter and weaker structures to crumble to the ground. Blackout grinned widely as he leaned his head closer and tried his best to see if he could spot any of the creatures that called this planet home. To his disappointment, he could only see colorful dots littered all over the ground near the buildings. He was unsure what they were, but he assumed that many of the humans must be inside them. The stallion opened his mouth to speak but stopped as he heard a shrill sound ring through the tiny mosslike city. It caused his ears to flick and he lifted his head, annoyed by the high-pitched cacophony. “What the…. What is that?” He asked, turning to look at Blaze, who seemed to hear it as well.
The unicorn stepped a bit closer and winced at the sound. “Sirens. They sound those off when they are panicking. So annoying. I’ll take care of it.” Blaze said, lifting his hoof up, but Blackout shook his head and nudged him gently. The cobalt blue stallion staggered a bit due to the absurd difference in strength between him and his lover.
“Wait! Don’t crush them. I wonder if I should keep them? You know, like pets or something.” Blackout pondered, thinking back to the ant farm he had kept as a colt.
“Pets? Dude, they are bugs. Wait- don’t you hate bugs anyway? You were always complaining they ruined your garden and stuff.” Blaze said, looking towards Velocity, who seemed a bit confused as well.
“I hate the invasive ones who kill my plants… These ones though, I’d take care of them,” The gray furred stallion chuckled and stood up. “Not sure where I would keep them right now though- Oh! Wait a second.” The earth pony reached around and used his muzzle to open one of the pockets of his saddle bag. Inside he retrieved a small plastic container that he had been planning on using to bring a snack or two along on the trip but completely forgot to do so.
Velocity stepped forward and giggled. “If you want to keep a few of them, I think I can help, Blackie.” She cooed, nuzzling his neck. The purple furred mare looked down at the panicking city that rested near their hooves. Unlike Blaze, the mare was a bit more open minded on keeping some of the creatures safe. While she would not deny that she enjoyed a good romp, especially alongside her Blaze, she was much less malicious than he was. At the moment she felt close to indifferent towards the mites that were now cast into shadow beneath them. The excitement that Blackout showed at the idea of keeping some of the insects as pets amused her greatly.
“I’d like that very much, Vel.” He said, smiling towards the mare and wagged his tail excitedly. Not a moment after he said that Velocity’s horn lit up and the magical energy swirling around it began to form a blade. It lowered towards the city that was no doubt full to the brim with screaming mite sized people and began to carve around the outskirts. Trenches miles deep separated those trapped within from the rest of the world as the mare’s magic began to gently scoop the chunk of earth from the ground. Blackout and Blaze watched as the city rose up slowly and carefully, floating towards the plastic container that the mare now held on her hoof.
“Here we go… Safe and sound.” She declared happily, placing a lid onto the container, and poking a few air holes through it before the magical blade vanished.
“How many of them you plan on taking?” Blaze asked, watching as the purple furred mare used as simple spell to keep the container stabilized so that every shake and rumble wouldn’t bring harm to the city inside. She shook it around to see if it had worked and was clearly satisfied. The mare slid the container back into Blackout’s saddle bag.
“Hmmm… Depends on how many nice-looking cities we come across~ I might even find enough to have a collection! Don’t worry little guys. I’ll take good care of you when we head back. I’ll feed you and keep you safe from Blaze.” Blackout said, giving his saddlebag a gentle pat. He flashed a playful grin towards the shorter stallion, who rolled his eyes and snorted.
“Cute~ I’m not sure where exactly we are, but it seems we are on an island. We were on a large continent last time, weren’t we?” Velocity asked, her red eyes moving from the nearest coastline, towards Blaze, who was busy scanning the ground for more cities.
“Think so. Took a while to find an ocean. I don’t know about this place, Vel. Seems kinda bland. We should just find the last place we had fun on.” The fiery eyed stallion suggested.
Blackout, however, didn’t seem to mind the lack of interesting scenery much. He was too busy slowly walking down the coastline, observing tiny little objects floating in the water. They were ships, but to the multi-mile tall stallion they were smaller than even the puniest of water bugs. The equine lowered his head a few inches to try and see just how many ships there were. Hundreds at least. Perhaps even thousands.
Despite how tiny they were, the earth pony could just faintly see small trails of smoke rising into the air around them. His eyes followed them towards his hoof, where dozens of minute flashes of lights were seen before more smoke rose from the thick feather protecting his mountainous hooves. It took him a moment to realize that he was being attacked by the tiny creatures. He glanced towards the unicorns, who were still discussing if it was worth finding a new area to explore. “Heh, they are really scared of us.” He commented, standing back to his full and impressive height, not even noticing the continuous bombardment against his legs.
“I’d be scared too if I were the size of a speck and had such a handsome stallion towering over me.” Velocity purred, standing on his right and spotting a few coastal towns not too far from where they stood.
“Hehe… True. What are these things called again?” Blackout asked curiously, beginning to walk once more. His eyes were focused on the ground just ahead of his hooves so he wouldn’t inadvertently step on one of the many towns scattered around them.
“Humans. But I find it simpler and more fitting to just call them bugs.” Blaze answered, walking a few feet behind the others to allow his own hooves to brutally crush those that Blackout had tried to avoid stepping on. The blue stallion smirked a bit as he felt countless buildings crunch beneath his weight and was amused to see just how perfect his hoof prints were imbedded into the fragile planet’s crust.
“Hoo… mans…” Blackout muttered to himself, slowing down as he reached the southernmost region of the large island they were stomping across. “They sure build a lot of cities. It’s hard to avoid crushing them.”
“Well, accidents happen~” Velocity cooed, feeling a sudden crackle beneath her right hind hoof, and knowing that a village or two had just met its end under a wall of purple. She bit her lip and tried to not think about just how wonderful it felt.
The earth pony nodded his head and then stopped dead in his tracks, eyes wide and grin broadening. He had spotted the largest city yet. It was much larger than his hoof and had a river snaking through the middle of it. He knew this one must be important to the humans, so he carefully got down onto his stomach and peered as best he could down at it. Although his muzzle was now resting on the ground, he was so massive that he was still looking down a few miles to the ground to see the skyscrapers and other structures. “Look how big this one is…” He whispered, hearing the shrill sound of screaming with his powerful equine ears.
“Oh yeah, there’s one worth stomping on.” Blaze said, only half joking. The unicorn sat down on his haunches and saw his lover observe the humans like he were a curious colt watching ants scurrying along the ground.
Blackout glanced up towards him and smirked. “You’re not gonna step on this one though, Blay.” He cooed, watching the unicorn’s cheeks go red at him repeating the pet-name Velocity had given him. With a soft chuckle he turned his attention back to the city and squinted to spot the colorful little objects in the streets. There were so many humans down beneath him. Millions, at least. Behind him, Blackout’s tail wagged and thumped against the ground with enough force to cause seismic events that created tsunami’s and earthquakes. He was oblivious to this, however. The earth pony’s eyes were on the city that rested between his two forehooves.
The colossal stallion listened to the sounds coming from the city for a few moments, his ears flicking a little bit as a few sirens mingled with the screaming and yelling. The stallion tried to calm them down by whispering, “It’s okay little ones. I’m just looking,” The warm gusts of air escaping his mouth shot through the packed streets of the city, sending humans and their tiny vehicles hurling back. Blackout of course did not see the carnage his voice had caused. A few tiny specks caught his attention flying away from the city. “Whoa, some of you can fly, huh?”
Blaze looked down at the tiny city that he would have been much happier stomping on than observing. He didn’t really understand the appeal of watching the mite sized creatures. The unicorn preferred to entertain himself by exerting his dominance over them by crushing their cities. Blaze had only slightly noticed that the humans were trying to fight back, occasionally spotting tiny explosions against his hooves, or feeling a very faint tingle against his rump. The fact that they were even trying to fight them off brought a smug smirk to the unicorn’s face. Just to show them how pathetic he thought they were, he swatted hundreds of aircraft out of the air with his tail. The blue furred stallion spotted the tiny gnats swarming Blackout’s face, wondering if he might inhale some of them by mistake.
The military opened fire against the larger pony’s muzzle, causing thousands of bright speck sized dots to appear momentarily against his face. He did not even feel their attacks, nor did he show any sign that he had spotted the puny jets. Missiles continued to impact against his light gray snout. A few of them flew directly into his nostrils, exploding deep inside of his nose. It was clear at once that this was a big mistake. The stallion suddenly scrunched his nose and turned his head slightly. The explosions, in addition to the small amount of smoke exiting the earth pony’s nostrils caused so much irritation that there was no preventing what was to come.
The earth pony winced and shut his eyes as he tried to turn his head further away from the city but could not manage it in time. “Ahh… AAACHOOOO!” The sneeze was violent and sudden, causing Velocity to jump in surprise. The mare had been looking across the small body of water separating themselves from a much larger continent. Blaze didn’t even try to hide his smirk as he watched the largest city on the island get blasted away as if it were nothing at all. Millions of humans and thousands of buildings were gone, replaced by a muddy mess that stretched miles.
Blackout’s eyes widened a bit as he saw what he had done. A simple sneeze had resulted in the total destruction of an entire city and miles of land surrounding it. The earth pony bit his lip and nervously glanced up towards blaze. “Oops… Uh, sorry…” He muttered, beginning to stand up, his large forehooves sinking deeper into the ground.
“Eh. Like Vel said, accidents happen. It’s no big deal. There are plenty of cities like that.” Blaze said offhoofedly, stepping back to give the much taller stallion room to get back up. As Blackout used his hind legs to push his body up from the ground the earth behind him split. The land uprooted and seemed to slide back towards the ocean. With eyes wide with surprise, the huge stallion lost balance and slammed back onto the ground. Blaze and Velocity felt the earth beneath their hooves rumble violently as the earth pony fell back down. “Clumsy today, aren’t you?” The unicorn chuckled, extending a hoof to help his stallion get back upright.
“The ground is so fragile. It’s almost like ice in a way.” Blackout grunted, nearly taking Blaze to the ground as he used him as support. The earth pony shook off the dirt and debris, flicking his tail in annoyance as he looked back at the huge swathe of land he had reduced to nothing but a miles deep crater.
“Excuses, excuses.” Blaze teased, giving the massive stallion a kiss on his cheek, which seemed to cheer him up slightly.
The two stallions approached Velocity, who dipped her front left hoof into the ocean to see if it were warm enough to simply walk through or if she would prefer to jump across. “There is much more to see over there. Was wondering if you boys were ready to check it out?~” She asked playfully as she turned around to face her stallions.
“Well, seeing how this big klutz nearly crushed the whole island, we might as well head to the next region.” Blaze said, regretting his teasing snipe as Blackout pulled him against his chest and chuckled.
“Hush, you~ I don’t mind, Vel. We still have lots to see.” The broad chested stallion let go of the blue unicorn and was pleased to see his cheeks had gone bright red.
“Let’s go then. I bet I can jump further than you, Blaze.” Velocity said, bending over to prepare to jump, her tail stroking against the stallion’s still rosy cheeks.
“You’re on!” He retorted, eagerly rushing to her side, and preparing himself as well. Blackout watched; a bit amused at his lover’s antics as they prepared to jump what seemed to be about 3 or 4 feet to the larger landmass. Velocity grinned toothily and nudged Blaze with her rump, causing him to stagger a moment before she leaped into the air, soaring towards a few coastal cities that were cast into shadow. Blaze jumped a split second after, not gaining as much air as the mare had, but clearing most of the gap with relative ease. It was clear to the earth pony what had happened. The instant Blaze had gone to jump, his hind hooves sank a bit too deep into the ground, similar to how he had lost his balance trying to get up off the ground mere moments ago.
Blackout saw the purple unicorn land nimbly on the other end, all four hooves crashing down onto a city near the ocean, decimating it instantly beneath four purple furred mountains. She grinned widely and turned just in time to see Blaze’s front two hooves dig into the already damaged chunk of land, while his hind legs crashed into the ocean, sending cold water all the way up towards his stomach. A tsunami miles tall washed inland, while waves just as massive reached Blackout miles away. He stood there, wondering if he too should jump across, but figured that it would be much less cruel to the humans if he simply walked.
“Looks like I win, Blay.” Velocity declared happily, kissing his lips and winking. The stallion stepped fully onto land and shook some of the water off of his legs. While Blaze looked disappointed for a moment, he quickly smirked and kissed the mare back.
“Only because I let you win, babe. You know, being chivalrous or whatever.” He said, allowing himself to be pulled into a loving embrace by the giggling mare.
“Sure~ You know, since I won, I think I should get something for it…” Velocity cooed, nibbling her stallion’s ear, and feeling him relax in her arms. The unicorns glanced back west to spot the earth pony walking slowly through the water. It was not too deep, only getting the lower part of his feather wet. In any case, Blackout didn’t seem to mind the cold water much. He stood over his lovers and chuckled.
“Cuddle time already?~” He teased, glancing down at the destroyed landscape around them. Deep hoof shaped gouges sunk miles into the earth and a half of a dozen cities were completely wiped out. Blackout attempted to avoid causing more destruction as he stepped closer and saw Velocity motion for him to get a bit nearer still. He obliged and felt her press her lips against his and then felt her hug him around his thick neck.
“In a little bit, Blackie~ I was just telling Blaze that he owes me for being such a poor jumper.” The mare grinned mischievously as the cobalt blue shot her an annoyed look.
“Mmm… Not going to take too long with whatever that might be?~ I don’t want you two all tuckered out. We still are going to have fun when we get back home…” The earth pony said, his tail wagging while he saw both of his unicorn soul mates grin towards him.
“Oh no. Nothing like that~ I was just going to have our handsome stallion here clean off my hooves. That jump got them very dirty…” The mare said coyly, smirking towards Blaze.
“You call that a punishment? I don’t know, Vel. As I seem to recall… He does enjoy tending to our hooves… amongst other things.” Blackout continued, growing more amused as Blaze’s embarrassment led him to stutter out a response.
“S-Shut up! You both are the same way.” He snapped, slamming his tail against the ground angrily and feeling the land crack apart beneath it.
“Good point, Blackie,” Velocity giggled, ignoring the blue stallion’s outburst, and standing back up. “Perhaps we could go double or nothing?~”
Blackout raised an eyebrow, wondering what his playful marefriend had in mind for the blushing stallion who was still sitting on his haunches. “Go on…” Blaze eventually said, his fiery eyes flashing. It was clear he was eager to wipe the grin off of Velocity’s face.
“Let’s try something a little more your speed. Barely anything worth exploring up there.” She motioned to the north, spotting a few snow-covered regions of the planet. The mare didn’t have to say another word. Blaze instantly understood.
“Oh yeah? What happened about not tormenting the bugs? Thought we were just touring their planet?~” Blaze asked, smirking deviously, and looking northward.
“I just didn’t want you crushing all of them before Blackie could see them~ You afraid of losing again?” The mare teased, knowing how to press all the right buttons.
“Let’s go then! Yeah, double or nothing. You’re totally on!” Blaze said, stomping off to the north and leaving Blackout and Velocity behind.
“Heh. You going to let him win?” Blackout whispered, seeing Blaze flick his tail in annoyance as he waited up ahead.
“Of course not~ We’ll be back in a few minutes. Want to come with or?” Velocity smiled happily as she was gently pulled into a hug. She felt the broad chested stallion rest his chin on her head for a moment, planting a kiss on her horn. The mare bit her lip and hugged the thick foreleg that was wrapped around her.
“I’m not really the ‘rampagey’ type, Vel. I’ll be right here when you two get back. I’m thinking I might want to keep a city or two from each continent…” The stallion muttered, more to himself than to anypony else.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Blaze stepped across a tiny body of water to take a shortcut to the northernmost region of the continent. He waited for Velocity to follow him so that they could have another ‘friendly’ competition. Once the mare had approached him, he nodded his head and motioned at the landscape around him. “Two minutes? Whoever crushes the most wins?” He asked, just barely able to hear the sirens coming from down beneath his hooves.
“Two minutes? Seems a bit unfair to them, doesn’t it? Fiiiiiine~ Let’s just make this quick. Blackie’s waiting.” The purple furred unicorn teased, nuzzling against Blaze as she stepped forward. A magical timer appeared in the air and the stallion chuckled.
“Ready… Set…. Go!” The timer began to count down, much to the dismay of the millions of humans who could do nothing but scream in absolute terror. The massive unicorns who had caused so much damage to the planet a few months previous were preparing to make a game of stamping their cities out beneath their hooves.
With a rush of wind that caused forests to get blown into nothing but splinters of wood, Blaze’s hoof rose upwards. The dirt covered underside of his hoof loomed high above the heads of hundreds of thousands in the nearest city. People fled and cried out in fear as the cruel stallion grinned widely down at them and stomped down as if to crush a pesky insect. It did not matter if the inhabitants of the city came into contact with the hard and brutal surface of the unicorn’s hoof or the soft cobalt blue fur that adorned it. Buildings were crushed and pulverized into crumbs of concrete and those who had been unfortunate enough to have lived in the city Blaze had targeted first were wiped out before many even knew what was happening. Whatever had been evidence a city once stood there was buried over three miles into the earth’s crust, reduced to nothing.
The stallion snorted with satisfaction and lifted his hoof, stepping forward towards the next city that was on the chopping block. “Already beating you, babe!” He said to the mare who was taking her time finding a city she deemed worthy of purposefully stepping on.
“We’ll see about that,” She said playfully and lifted her own hoof above a particularly large and densely population city. She assumed this one might be a capitol city for one of the human’s many countries. She smiled broadly down at the mite sized creatures she was dooming to a sudden and terrifying end beneath her purple hoof. “Awwww you are all so cute… Blackie will be a bit disappointed I’m going to do this, but there are plenty more he will enjoy keeping.” Velocity cooed, stepping down as casually as she would while taking a step forward.
The sensation of hundreds, if not thousands of buildings crunching under her weight caused a shiver of pleasure to shoot down her spine. The mare bit her lip and sighed happily, glancing over to her stallion who was now on his fourth city. Velocity closed her eyes and ground her hoof side to side to feel every last pop and crackle that the city offered her. The feeling filled her with bliss and she almost let out a moan from all the stimulation she felt beneath her hoof. She then followed Blaze’s lead and kept walking north, targeting any densely populated area she could. As she made her way north she found that with every deadly stomp she was growing more and more excited, almost to the point she considered calling the competition off and asking for Blaze to give her the attention she was now craving. However, she remembered her other stallion and wished to save the real fun for when all three of them could lay down together.
“Mmm, you missed one, Blaze!” Velocity called out, catching a peek of her stallion’s rump as he turned around to see what she had been talking about. It was clear in an instant however that she had done this to momentarily distract him. She trotted up and playfully dragged him to the ground, giggling as he had clung to her in an attempt to stay upright.
“H-Hey!” He snapped, unsure of what she was doing until she sat on top of him, grinning smugly. Blaze blinked a few times and felt her rub her forehooves along his chest. “C-Cheater…”
“You know it~” The purple furred mare teased, leaning down to passionately kiss him. His eyes went wide as he felt her tongue slide into his mouth for a second- or it might have been a full minute. His lust for her had spiked so suddenly that he was unsure of just how much time had passed while they kissed on top of what had been a few villages and towns. Blaze had reacted exactly how the mare intended. He had gone almost completely limp beneath her, lost in the sensation of making out with the beautiful purple unicorn. Velocity split the kiss a few seconds later and got to her hooves. The stallion’s fiery eyes followed her for a moment as she winked and gave him a sly grin before trotting off, following the route he had been taking before she had playfully tackled him to the ground.
“Get back here!” Blaze yelled, shakily getting back up. He knew that if Blackout had seen that he would never hear the end of it. The cobalt blue pony ran after his mare, watching as she marched on, aiming her hooves for every town and city she saw.
“Seven! Eight! Oooh! TEN! Heheh~ Hurry up, Blaze~ You’re losing!” She called out, doing a playful twirl that caused her hooves to carve a trench of destruction that stretched miles in length. The stallion growled and tried catching up, knowing that much less than half of the time was remaining and his marefriend was in the lead. He attempted to jump on one of the nearest metropolises that Velocity was too far to get, but the second before his hooves made impact a beam of energy fired from the mare’s horn and blasted a hole miles in diameter where the city had been. Smoke rose from the crater and Velocity simply smirked.
“Oh, that’s it!” Blaze said, unable to resist laughing as Velocity giggled and took off running. He galloped after her, 8 deadly hooves impacting the landscape and leaving more destruction in their wake than any nuclear bomb could ever do. The unicorns laughed and chased each other like a filly and colt on the playground, while simultaneously stamping out any populated area that was unlucky enough to be in their way. Screams, sirens, and other sounds of chaos were drowned out by their laughter as Blaze eventually caught up and tackled the mare to the ground, looming over her as she panted. “Caught you.” The stallion said, catching his breath as well.
“I still won~ I got 28.” Velocity said with a smirk, the magical timer ringing off in the distance for a few moments before fizzling out.
“24… I think… But you cheated, so.” Blaze frowned a bit but couldn’t help but smile as Velocity used her magic to pull his muzzle a bit closer to hers. He lowered his head and felt her soft lips against his once more and found his annoyance gone almost instantly.
“Still. You’re on hoof duty all week now… For Blackie as well~ How’s that sound?” She asked, pressing her snout against his and nuzzling him before he got off of her.
“Sounds… Uh… Sounds good, I guess.” The stallion responded, trying not to seem pleased with the arrangement. “Let’s go back. Don’t want him thinking we ditched him for a quick rut or something.”
The unicorns got up and walked back south, pleased with the wasteland of hoofprints and body shaped craters they had left in such a large area of human inhabited land. Velocity allowed her tail to become intertwined with Blaze’s and she affectionately nuzzled her head into his. “Reminds me of our last visit~ If we aren’t careful there won’t be much of a planet left for us to explore next time…”
“Yeah, that’s true. It’s their fault for being so fun to crush~” Blaze chuckled and saw the bent over form of the gigantic earth pony a little further south from where they had arrived after leaping across from the large island.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
While Blaze and Velocity went off to ravage the northern part of the continent, Blackout decided to see if any of the cities on this part of the world were worth keeping in his cottage. He carefully walked around; head lowered so that he could get a good look at the ground. The terrified screaming made finding smaller settlements much easier, but none of them were interesting enough looking to be worth taking back. The stallion hummed gently to himself as he admired the slightly different scenery around him. There were mountains and rivers, not to mention way more of the flying objects that the earth pony assumed must be some sort of machine the humans had created. The giant stallion tried to keep his tail from excitedly wagging behind him, as to not blow away cities or aircraft. It was very hard to not step on or devastate the humans in other ways. Blackout was accident prone due to his size but he considered himself quite used to having a gentle hoof when he needed to. He had learned over years of gardening that some things required great care- and trying to observe the humans was one of them.
His breathing alone caused so much chaos down below that many of the tiny creatures had to rush indoors to avoid the warm and damp winds. Every time he blinked it was as though two gigantic shockwaves crashed against the nearest cities, shattering windows, and causing many to cover their ears to avoid damage by the deafening blasts. Despite this, it was clear to the humans that this titan was at least trying to preserve their lives, taking slow and calculated steps to ensure he would not level towns or cities beneath his hooves. As the stallion made his way south he spotted a city that was comparable in size to the one he had accidentally destroyed with his sneeze. He grinned eagerly and set down his saddle bag to retrieve the container that was already housing tens of thousands of humans. Tiny screams were still coming from it, but he knew that after a while the humans would know that they would be safe with him and that there was nothing to fear.
Blackout also took out a small garden trowel from the saddle bag that had a hoof strap on it to allow easy use for an equine such as himself. “You little guys will be a great addition. Okay, hold on tight, this might get a little shaky for a moment.” He carefully removed the lid of the container with his free hoof and began to slowly press the trowel into the soft, malleable surface of the fragile planet. Blackout had to concentrate hard to not put too much force into it, otherwise he would risk causing the city to collapse in on itself if the ground beneath it was dug apart by the trowel too quickly.
Millions of the germ sized humans shrieked in horror as the gigantic equine used such a simple garden tool to begin to dig their city out from the very earth itself. Every few moments the stallion would lift the trowel and dig a bit deeper on another area just outside the city. Many buildings crumbled to the ground, but the destruction was not nearly as bad as it could have been. The godlike Equestrian took his time digging around the city until he was sure that it would be able to be lifted safely. Once satisfied, Blackout tilted the trowel and felt the land underneath the city begin to lift up from the hole he had dug. His grin widened and he slowly lifted the whole thing up, keeping his hoof as stable as possible. “It’s okay, don’t be afraid little ones. I’m going to take good care of you, I promise.” He whispered softly and brought the screaming metropolis to the container and slowly allowed the chunk of planet and cityscape to slide off of the trowel and get enveloped by the magical protection Velocity had used to keep objects in the container safe from the devastating shaking that would ensue.
The earth pony placed the lid back on and held the container on his free hoof, smiling down at the two human cities he now had. Almost right as he was about to put the container back in his saddle bag, his unicorn lovers approached, their hooves absolutely filthy with dirt and were a bit wet due to all the snowy areas they had stomped all over.
“You two have fun? Had your rampage fill?” Blackout asked with a chuckle, seeing the smaller ponies nuzzle each other and nod happily.
“Mhm~ Blaze lost, again. So starting tomorrow he is going to be worshipping our hooves for a week or so.” Velocity said with a smug expression on her face. The cobalt blue stallion simply grumbled under his breath and looked down at the container that Blackout was still holding.
“Found another one you wanted?” He asked, unnecessarily.
“Yep! I don’t think we’ve been good tourists to them though, heh. Especially after what you two have been up to. What’s the phrase…? ‘Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but hoofprints’? ” Blackout pondered, looking down at the container as he slid it back into his saddle bag along with his garden trowel.
“We certainly left plenty of those,” Blaze said, shooting a lustful grin towards his mare. “Probably more than the pony who made up that stupid phrase had in mind.”
“True. We should at least take a picture though. Capture the moment~ Did you bring your camera, Blackie?” Velocity asked curiously, watching as the earth pony dug through the largest pocket of the saddle bag.
“Should be in here somewhere… Ah! Found it!” He happily declared, pulling out the camera that had been his last birthday present from Velocity. The two of them shared a grin and just as the stallion was about to ask one of them to use their magic to float the camera up for a group picture, Velocity spoke.
“We should look the part, shouldn’t we?” She giggled to herself and with a pop a shirt and ball cap appeared in her arms. Both stallions cocked their heads, confused to what exactly they were, but soon saw that the shirt looked like something one would buy in a Manehattan gift shop. Written across the chest of it was ‘I <3’ and a picture of a planet. The hat had the same cheesy overused slogan on it as well, but Blackout seemed absolutely delighted with it.
“Nothing for Blaze?” The earth pony asked, playfully nudging his smaller companion.
“We’d have to hold him down to get him to wear one of these~ I’d enjoy that, but we’ve already torn up a good deal of the landscape around us, so~” Velocity simply grinned at the expression on Blaze’s face as she slid the shirt on and watched Blackout place the hat onto his head a moment later. The mare then floated the camera up, turned it to face them and pressed her head lovingly against Blackout’s soft chest.
Blaze gasped in surprise as the absurdly strong earth pony clasped his hoof onto his back and pulled him a bit closer so that he too was pressed against his chest. With a click Velocity took a picture of all three of them. The smaller stallion used a hoof to rub his aching shoulder and grumbled under his breath as Velocity looked at the picture and beamed down at it. “Turned out great~ Should we keep on moving? I don’t know about you boys, but I’m getting kind of hungry…”
The earth pony smiled and not a moment after his stomach let out a loud growl. “I think I’ll wait until we get back. I’m more in the mood for a nice hayburger, not a city.” Blackout said with a chuckle.
“That’s alright, dude. More for us~ ” Blaze said with a smirk. He watched as Blackout returned the camera to his saddle bag and slowly rested his body onto the ground.
The unicorns smiled and the blue furred stallion was quick to use his magic to rip the nearest surviving city from the earth without any care for the wellbeing of those inside. Knowing that Blackout was watching he slowly leaned forward. Velocity soon did the same so that in a few seconds their lips were on either end of the panicking city that was floating between them. With tails wagging with excitement, Blaze and Velocity opened their mouths and allowed their teeth to sink into the cityscape. The gigantic white teeth carved through neighborhoods as easily as a knife through butter. Each was so thick that thousands upon thousands of people were simply flattened beneath the flat equine teeth. Very little of the downtown region survived being brought into their maws, but they were not as lucky as they initially thought. Dozens of thousands of survivors watched their mouths close and heard them begin to chew on thousands of homes and skyscrapers. The sound was deafening and truly horrifying. With two loud gulps what had been just over a million lives was simply swallowed down to be absorbed into the bodies of two godlike Equestrians. The unicorns smirked toothily down at the tiny chunk of remaining city, letting those within it see the dirt and rubble stuck between their mountainous teeth.
“You take it, babe.” Blaze whispered softly, squinting to see all the tiny fires that had broken out of the decimated city.
“No…. Together~” The mare said back, leaning in further. Velocity then pressed her lips against Blaze’s, smearing what was left of the metropolis between their soft pony lips. They plopped down onto the ground and embraced each other while kissing deeply, forcing the mushed-up city into their mouths and toying with it for a few seconds. Eventually Blaze swallowed most of the destroyed metropolis and shivered with delight.
The unicorns smirked knowingly at each other before turning back to Blackout, whose cheeks were as red as could be and it took a second before he realized his mouth was hanging open. He cleared his throat and watched as his lovers stood over him with grins on their faces. “You sure you don’t wanna share a city or two, big guy?” Blaze asked, laying down against the earth pony and laughing a bit.
“It… It’s a tempting offer… Heh.” The flustered stallion replied, pleased to feel Blaze nuzzle up against him as his little spoon. Velocity soon followed suit, laying against the cobalt blue unicorn so that Blackout could wrap his arms around both of them and hold them in his loving embrace.
“I suppose we can cuddle for a while~” Velocity cooed, nuzzling her face into the soft feather of her stallion’s hoof.
“There’s still so much to explore. There’s a whole different continent to the south, and this place goes on a long ways to the east~ We might need to come back another day.” The earth pony said, resting his chin on Blaze’s soft mane.
“I’m cool with that~ Maybe we’ll even give these bugs a nice show instead of saving it for when we get back home.” Blaze teased, twitching a bit as he felt the enormous stallion kiss his horn a moment later.
Velocity showed her approval of the idea by wagging her black and pink tail against Blaze’s chest and letting out a playful giggle. Blackout slightly tightened his hug and nuzzled his snout a bit further into his stallion’s soft mane. “Now there’s an idea~ I love you two so much.”
Both unicorns nuzzled into his arm and said at the same time, “Love you too, Blackie.” The three gigantic ponies snuggled closely together. Their bodies were resting on a chunk of the continent that spanned about 60 miles in all directions. The whole world watched as the massive tourists simply lay together, docile for the moment. Billions of humans held their breath, knowing the moment that they got up, their fates would be decided.
