i think being an artist is about being an artist for yourself first... then being an artist for others... just like in order to content you gotta content yourself before others otherwise you wont be able to content yourself and always being given orders to do things that might not please you. pleasing others does not always have to comform to your needs.

trust me really fanarts can be the hit as much i find... i often look for fanarts myself on FA. sometimes it makes me sad that i cant find what i want so i just go in the corner suck my thumb and beat my roomate and complain to him... nah jk!!! LOL
just to say people sometimes enjoy fanarts as much as original arts im sure of it... maybe if ya post a journal to ask people what they think about it could be nice.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would seriously LOVE to see more. Commission images are great and all, but what I love about the HTTYD images you've put up so far is how emotional and subtle they are. There's a quality to these pictures I don't see in some of you other work-- a more sensitive feeling, if you will?-- that I would really love more of.
