Alone at the waterfront, a human male sat on a tree that had been felled a few years earlier, staring at the palm of his hand. The young adult’s gaze slowly went down his arm, wondering what it would be like if it was covered in fur. He sighed as he stood up, feeling the chill of the early December air, subconsciously running a hand over his chest. He didn’t realize that he was wondering out loud, nor that he specifically mentioned pondering what being a fox anthro was like, even a female one. Consequently, a certain female ebony-furred wolf anthro overheard his ramblings, and got an idea. “I could help ya with that,” Karina stated with her Southern accent. She pointed to his back from between a pair of oak trees. The human shuddered as he felt a tingle run up his spine, and he coughed as the wolf made a pinching gesture, causing his waist to narrow. A casual vertical swipe of an extended index finger caused fox fur to sprout across the human’s back and begin to spread, and his now-unnecessary jacket to disintegrate, and that’s when he noticed.
“What is…?” both his hands came up, over his shoulders, and onto his back, feeling the new additions. “Is that…?” Karina patted the air a couple times, causing the human’s shoulders to deflate as the fur became visible from under his shirt, on his upper arms and lover neck. Behind him, the wolf tapped the tips of her index fingers together, then spread them out, causing the human’s cheeks to widen as the fur reached them, and pushing one index finger forward pushed his nose and mouth out into a distinctly vulpine muzzle, teeth and tongue reshaping as it happened. The not-human-for-much-longer grabbed his new snout in disbelief as whiskers sprouted from either side while his hands grew padding and fingernails turned into claws, ears pushing up to the top of his head and reshaping into those of a fox. As the fur finished covering him and his feet reshaped into feetpaws, Karina made a gesture reminiscent of pulling a rope, and a thick, bushy tail sprouted from behind the former human, fully turning him into a fox anthro. However, the wolf wasn’t finished just yet. As she started gestures that seemed as though she were sculpting something only she could see, the fox’s limbs began thinning out as his Adam’s apple dissolved, the tingling from which brought on another cough, which caused the fox to put a hand to his throat, still in disbelief.
“Almost there,” Karina whispered, tapping three fingers against her upper chest twice, just below the neck. The fox gasped again as her own chest suddenly sported a nice bust, over which a bra materialized, and her hips, thighs, and rear expanded a bit, followed by a squeal as something between his - no, her - legs was replaced with its female counterpart. Finally, another pulling gesture from the wolf caused the vixen-turned human’s hair, which had as yet gone unchanged, to grow out in a thick curtain reaching the middle of her back. She let her hands drop to her sides, her magic done. She stood there for a moment, then turned to leave, when a voice spoke up to her right, from the direction of the new vixen.
“Was this your doing?” She turned, and sighed.
“Yeah. I overheard your ramblings and couldn’t help it.”
“Who are you?”
“I am Karina. You?”
“Chester,” the fox looked down at herself. “Maybe I should come up with something different.”
“I could turn you back just as easily,” Karina offered.
“Wait, no,” Chester stammered, “this actually isn’t too bad.”
“That’s good,” stated the wolf with a relieved sigh. “Uh, while you’re like this, I could buy a new wardrobe for ya.”
Chester, with a shrug, said, “That doesn’t sound too bad.”

“Okay, okay, that’s enough!” Chester finally relented after having tried on yet another dress. She had long since lost count of how many Karina made her try.
“Aw, but you look so cute in ‘em!”
Chester sighed. “I’ve already picked out three I’d want to keep, okay? And the cart’s already full of other clothes.”
“Yeah, alright.” A sly grin crept onto Karina’s face. “By the way, have ya thought out a new name yet?”
“Uh, no, I haven’t yet. And what’s with the smirk?”
“You’re getting used to this pretty well.”
“Uh, well,” were it not for her face being covered in fur, Chester would’ve blushed. “I’m just enjoying it, okay?”
“Thought up a new name yet?”
“I have a couple in mind,” Chester admitted. “Come on, let’s just buy these and get it over with.” She pushed the cart over to the nearest checkout, and started purchasing.
“I used to be a guy, too,” Karina stated. “Speaking from experience, it ain’t easy, comin’ up with a new name.”
“I’d like to hear more about that sometime.”

A few days passed, and the wolf and vixen met up again at the park, and that’s when the latter broke the news. “Catherine,” she stated. “I’ll go with Catherine.”
“That’s a wonderful name,” Karina replied as the two reached the log where Catherine had been transformed. “Who did your hair?” she asked, noticing that the vixen’s hair was now in a braid.
“I did it myself,” she said. “And, I’ve been thinking of something.” The wolf felt the vixen reach around her back and put a hand on the opposite shoulder, pulling her into a sideways hug.
“Well, what is it?”
“I don’t want to turn back.”
Karina’s response was to turn herself and Catherine and hug her in return. “Then it won’t happen. Welcome to your new life.”
