Another one of my poems.
this time it is losly based on the far famed poem "Der Erlkönig" from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and the sequel poem "Erlkönigs Tochter" from Johann Gottfried von Herder, feared by many students, because they are ordered to recitite it in class
Short summary for non german speaking people:
A man sees some fairies at night and follows then to their dancing place. They invite him to dance with them and this is the man´s doom. He is drained of his life force and life time and dies. When his wife receives the word of his death, she takes an iron cross with her and stabs it into the dancing place of the fairies. This banishs them and they flee, only a mistletoe sticks on the cross to show that there was pagan magic involved...

Its scary and those sound like Demons masquerading as Fairies. Pagan isn't a very fun thing to think about.
Though I tend to hope that no one confuses Wiccan for Pagan. For the former is about worshipping Earth, while the latter is well.....doesn't quite take much to say what it is.
I actually find Wiccan and Native American beliefs to be relatively relatable and comparable to each other. I may be Southern Native American (Peru Blood), but I am more than still attracted want to learn plenty from various Northern Native Americans.
Er...oops...derailed a bit!
I actually wonder why students dread reciting this. Is it a test of language? Do they not like or do they fear the story?

European folklore is very dark and many traditions and festivals that we still celebrate today have such dark backgrounds.
Take for example the scarecrow. Its origins tends back to allmost neolithic ages and it was a ritual to make the fields fertile by sacrificing a human being, binding it to a stake and kill it so the sacrifice´s blood wets the earth. Later this tradition was changed into a symbolic puppet filled with straw. The reason to scare away crows from the field was an explaination to make it not so dark for today living folks.
If you want to learn more about european folklore, just read the manga "Ancient Magus Bride" there you will find awfully accurate infos about european supernatural beings.
Elves and fairies are not just the adorable cute beings modern fantasy tries to portray them.
Pagan often means the small divine beings that were worshipped by farmers and small villages. Nature divines and spirits. Nature was merciless, harvest was allways in danger and famine was omnipresent.
On the other side I have heard that the inka religion was also very cruel in terms of human sacrifices in times of desaster, when harvest was in danger or if the ruling Inka was ill.

Oooooo! Is that how you say "Inca"? That's curious to me! Varying languages have different spellings for certain names, I have two Russian names, the...well, the one you know me by! The second is my middle name, but its the Russian Spelling of it in English!
And yes the Inca, Mayans, and Aztecs were just as merciless as nature as I would observe or say. Though it was not for Pagan-related reasons, it was for their Gods. For their gods would keep the Day and Night cycle going. It wasn't just for nature, they knew of various planets, they knew they were more than just their land, they knew the Sun, and even the Stars beyond our sun. I find that my ancestry was very brutal, but I didn't want to assume just how brutal they were. And I didn't know that! Ya learn something new everyday or almost everyday!
As for the Ancient Magus Bride, I actually have seen snippets of the anime, rather than the manga. I'm...a-actually surprised you've not ever gotten a request for Elias' feetpaws to be tickled or tickle-licked. Because he...d-does actually have feetpaws if you ever see him not wearing shoes and not transformed. Its possible he could get into situations like Eternal, the many times the Rat's feetpaws were targets of many many people who favor them highly.
Strangely enough, I don't see Elias being European in terms of the creature he is, his description, powers, everything matches that of a Wendigo/Skinwalker of Native American Lore. Being able to transform into any creature is a very useful trait to have. If you ask me, Wendigo having that trait makes them the ultimate in Stealth and Infiltration Specialists. They can transform themselves into anything, with any details. Shoes? You got it! Gloves? You got it! Clothes of any type and style? You got it!
If a Wendigo saw Naked Snake/Big Boss or Solid Snake and learns to be like them? Forget about finding them. Well, as long as they keep their human flesh/blood appetite suppressed.

In the german lenguage it is called Inka for real. That tends back to the time of the romans who only had the "c" to spell "k" as well, but on the other hand there was ancient greek lenguage that only had "k" to express "c" sounds as well. And most western and central european lenguages are highly influenced by ancient roman lenguage.
And about worship of god I am of a different oppinion. The sole reason why any human tribe has thought of various divines or one divine being is that they had something to explaine abstract things like weather phenomenons, the ongoing time or why there is life and death and how did the world came to life and the reason why certain events allways repeat themselves in certain intervalls. They thought of some reason behind this and also that they could get any benefit out of this, advantages like a longer or healthier life, luck with the hunt for not to go away hungry or to recover from an illness.
Prayers, sacrifices and rites were only meant to be some kind of "deals", no matter what religion there is in this world, be it the three great monotheistic religions or other believings, be it Inti and Viracocha, Jupiter, Zeus, Ra, Odin, Shiva, Amaterasu, Iboniasiboniasiamanoro, or the dreamtime entities or just the simple spirits of nature like elves, trolls... all about religion is: Be on our side so that we are shielded from any harm, hunger, illness or sudden death
It is about comforting not to fall in despair that we are just meaningless creatures in a universe we will never get to comprehend

All that is a fair analysis on how the Divine and Gods or a God is viewed and treated. And I do believe you on that as well!
And awesome! I didn't think it'd be "Inka", then again its a bit hard to imagine which letters replace which with certain words or names.
A-Also aaaaaaaaa, is your Scanner giving you shiet again?

IIIIIIIII knew it, otherwise it wouldn't have taken long. <v>
Maybe a component is damaged from being overused (Any odd scents it produced?)? Any paper stuck (if its in fact a combo scanner where its also a copy machine/printer)? Any software or settings keeping it from scanning?

I'm assuming you've checked the connection repeatedly. Hm....how often is the connection, if it is in fact a wired connection, how often would you say that it gets yanked or violently pulled by complete accident? Its wires or maybe even the USB part might be getting undone, damaged, or bent.
However! If its a wireless connection, I wanna suggest moving objects around! See if there's any obstructions during the signals between the PC and Scanner! Or maybe check your PC's control panel and check around for any Bluetooth Updates for the Driver to be updated! However, if its the new Driver causing issues, make sure you check your Diver History and Rollback so it can work again. I did that with an Audio Driver since my mic wasn't working on Discord at all, so I Rollback'd the Driver and everything started working 100% again. So it could be a new or old driver causing the issue if its in fact a wireless/Bluetooth connection!
Then again that's assuming its directly connected to the PC and it doesn't function on its own directly. If it is one of those kinds of scanners, I don't quite know how to help other than to call in a repairman to either send it in, or to call and receive advice or help! ;v;
