Kygen's 2020 Commission Sheet
KYGEN’S 2020 COMMISSION GUIDELINES AND DESCRIPTIONS
Status: Closed
Sketch ($50)
A sketch will often be of a single character created with only lines. Light shading will be included to help create form and depth. These will always be on a white background, but I would be more than happy to change the colors of the lines if you so desire. This is a good cheap option if you just want a concept drawn out.
Additional Characters: +$30 each
Colored Sketch ($100)
A colored sketch is not as simple as you would expect. Instead of only flat colors, it will have shading too. The background will normally be white with a color accent behind the character. Since I don’t really do line art, the drawing will still have a textured look to it. This option is great for more cartoony scenarios and images that don’t need to be brought to a painting.
Additional Characters: +$60 each
Character Painting ($200)
A character painting is a fully rendered picture of a character. Everything will be fully painted, including the background. However, the background will be abstract to focus the attention on the character. Textures and small details will be added to bring life to the painting. This is the best option if you just want to see your sona in my painting style and don’t really want too much of a narrative. That said, props can be added if you desire.
Additional Characters: +$120 each
Full Illustration ($300)
A full illustration is the highest tier for single pieces that I offer. This type of commission will always have a detailed background to accompany the character. It is extremely narrative-focused with the background reflecting the story in some way. More often than not, small cameos can be added into the background and the commissioner can decide on who makes an appearance. If they don’t want anyone else in the picture, I can easily just fill the background with generic furs. For this type of commission, I spend a long time developing the composition through thumbnails and sketches. I will ensure you get the best possible image that captures your idea. If you want to be more involved in the process, I can show you early sketches and you can determine where I go with the illustration.
Additional Characters: +$150 each
Icons ($75)
Icons are single character paintings from the chest up focusing mainly on the characters face. You can decide on the character's expression along with the background they are located in. Also, let me know if there is a specific type of mood you are going for, and I will do my best to capture that with the lighting.
Duo Icons ($140)
Duo icons are double character paintings with the two characters interacting in some way. Just like the single icons, they focus on the characters' faces and let you decide on the expressions and environment. For this type of icon, you can decide if you want it vertical or horizontal. Regardless of orientation, the painting can be broken up down the middle and used as two separate icons.
Painted Portrait ($125)
Painted portraits are a waist up painting featuring a character of your choosing. Normally, they will be standing in front of a colored wall that compliments the character’s colors along with a cast shadow behind them. As the commissioner, you will be able to decide the expression the character has.
Upgrade ($100-200)
Upgrades are a unique offer that I am trying out this year. Basically, they will allow you to take any sketch (it doesn’t need to be done by me) and upgrade it to a full painting. Flat colored images work as well, just as long as there is no shading in the image. If the image is not made by you or me, please get the artist’s permission before asking for an upgrade. Depending on the complexity of the image, the price will change. The final cost will be determined on a case by case basis. Also, if you would like me to include a background to the image, I can do so. It will cost you extra, however.
Sketch Sequence ($200)
A sketch sequence is a series of gray-scale sketches depicting a character changing in some way. These work the best for transformation, weight gain, muscle gain, or just growth in general. The starting amount of stages will always be three, but you can add up to seven more stages to a total of ten. Also, if you have a specific format you wanted me to put the sequence in, I would be more than happy to oblige.
Additional Stages: $50 | Additional Characters: +$30 for each stage they are included in
Colored Sequence ($350)
A colored sequence is just like the sketch sequence, but full color and simple shading. Normally, a simple background will be included that is shared between every stage. The backgrounds can be more complex, but that would cost extra. Just like the one before, the sequence starts off at three stages, but additional ones can be added up to ten.
Additional Stages: $100 | Additional Characters: +$50 for each stage they are included in
Painted Sequence ($950)
A painted sequence is the most expensive commission I offer and takes the longest to complete. This type of commission is basically a series of fully rendered paintings that show progression of a character. Each background will be different, unlike the other sequence options. This is the only type of commission that I do not have available whenever I open up commissions. You will have to come to me in advance and tell me you are interested in paying for such a big project as I need to set aside a large amount of time to complete it. This summer, I won’t have time to complete such a project, but if you are interested you may still fill out the form. It will let me know how many people are interested in getting a commission like this. The starting amount of stages is just like the other sequences with three, but unlike them, I will be only willing to do six stages maximum.
Additional Stages: $250 | Additional Characters: +$150 for each stage they are included in

Process / Payment
The following is how the standard commission process will go:
1. Look for when I make a post on Twitter or FurAffinity about opening commissions.
2. Fill out the Google form whenever I open for commissions. I normally will be open for 24 hours, giving you plenty of time to come up with a good idea.
3. Wait and see if I choose your idea for that batch of commissions. I apologize in advance that I cannot accept everyone. So, make sure to save your answers and reuse them the next time I open! If you are chosen, you will receive a message from me telling you the exact cost of the artwork.
3. If everything is in order, I will send an invoice to your PayPal asking for half the commission price.
4. Once half of the payment is made, I will sketch out the intended design and send it to you for approval.
5. If that sketch gets approved, then I will send another invoice for the second half of the payment. Once that gets paid, I will get started on finishing the picture. If at this point you don’t like the sketch or painting, I will do one free revision. However, any revisions from that point on will cost an additional $30.
5. The picture gets finished and a copy is sent to you, the commissioner.
Terms of Service
By filling out the Google form and submitting it whenever I open up commissions, you agree to the following terms:
Payment
I only accept payment via PayPal invoice in United States dollar (USD). Payment made in other currencies will not be accepted. However, PayPal provides a feature to easily transfer the currency to USD.
I expect any payment to be made within 48 hours of receiving the invoice. This will normally occur at the beginning of the process and after I have shown the sketch and it was approved. The payment can be delayed if an emergency arises. Otherwise, I expect payment within that time frame. If you fail to pay the invoice within the time frame, the commission will end, and you will receive only what you paid for. Failing to pay may also result in black-listing.
Cancellation and Refund
As the artist, I reserve the right to refuse, reject, or cancel a commission at any stage. If the piece has already been started and it was canceled, I will partially refund your money and send you whatever progress I have on the product. Commissions that have been completed will not be refunded.
Usage of Product
Once the commission is complete, I allow you to post the image to your own gallery along with cropping it into an icon; however, I must be credited whenever that occurs. If you want to modify or edit the work, ask permission before you do so.
As the artist, I retain the right to display the completed artwork in my gallery and used it as an example for my future work. I am also allowed to stream my process on the commission. If the commission is a gift and is desired to be a surprise, I am willing to be discreet about it. The piece won’t be posted until the agreed-upon date and will not be shown on stream. If there is reasonable cause to do so, I will allow a private commission. You must tell me beforehand in the commission document.
If you have questions about anything above, please feel free to message me with a note or leave a comment below. I am more than happy to answer them and help clarify any confusion.

Thank you for the interest, but it would be unfair to everyone else if I gave away slots in advance. Luckily I am not doing first come first serve, and I am instead using a google form. You won't have to worry about grabbing a slot quickly. Rather, you can take your time and come up with a good idea.
