A commission where my assignment was to insert the given dark brown wolf character into any kind of Norse Mythology in any way. There were so many stories about these big evil wolves tearing up the cosmos, I figured this would fit the bill.
This was very fun for me because i adore galaxy type settings, and would like to do more of them in my personal art, later.
The gal that commissioned this from me waited over a year, I'm pretty sure, so I'm thankful for her patience! Sloowwwllly getting caught up on all the art I have committed myself to accomplish...

While my art is certainly a different form, one of the things about visual arts that I've always found difficult to capture are size references - it's hard to capture relative "size" in the images presented to the viewer. In this case, you've done a simply fantastic job of capturing size, even with the celestial-scale. Your choices of color here are profound, going from extreme to extreme, capturing vivid detail from light to dark. While I'm not very familiar with Norse Mythos, I think the scene you've captured here does it all considerable justice. To the scene itself, I think you've done an incredible job with the blending of all the different elements, from the wolf "breaking out" of the planet (which is the most significant element IMHO giving a reference of size) to the brilliant starscape beyond. Yet, even with all the individual elements being perhaps "brighter" in color and texture, the wolf is still extremely dominant to the image, even with the dark colorations, forcing the eyes to be drawn to it to behold its glory! Overall, a very excellent and moving work! Most impressive!
This is incredible! I too (like a lot of the comments ive seen so far) am a Norse buff. So trust me when I say, Wow - THIS is an amazing piece.
I love your unique interpenetration; the Hati and Skoll sort of rolled into a single personification, that feeling of the end of things to come. Your backgrounds are just as vivid and detailed as your subject. I am very very impressed.
