Heads up, for a better reading experience, you can check out this chapter on SoFurry
Another long way! Sorry, you guys. But I got one insanely long chapter to make up for it. I hope it's not too long! This one was a real struggle to put together so do let me know what you think!
As always, the artwork is made by the amazingly talented

Oh, since this chapter is way too long to add in the submission description, you'll have to download the PDF!

Awww, what a sweet chapter!
The way you've written these two makes perfect sense, and I love that you're exploring the downsides to being the resident day-saving hero.
Most of all, though, I love the longing ache that pervades the whole story. Again, you've gotten me invested in and sympathizing with characters from a game series I never really cared much about. Keep it up!

Thanks! And it can't be easy having to be the hero all the time, especially when it's all you've ever known!
And if you wanted to give Spyro a try, I can really recommend the Reignited Trilogy! That was my first Spyro game, so I'm fairly new to the fandom myself!

I actually have the Reignited Trilogy! Still haven't finished the first game yet, mainly because I'm not that big a fan of how aimless the level design feels at times. Loving the visuals, though, which I suspect is half the reason this series is so beloved. I do like how you're using locations from the games to such great effect, though.
You bring up a good point there - the level design in the Spyro games make no sense. Hovering platforms everywhere, inexplicably placed supercharge-ramps. I can definitely get how it might not be everyone's cup of tea! I do really love the different homeworlds from the games though so I'm glad that shines through in the story!
Absolutely fantastic Chapter. I was definitely the uncool, quiet, and awkward fellow wherever I went, so I understand Flame rather well in this story. I *did* get to play every Spyro Game, so I get aall the references here and even picture exactly where they are what they're doing and how.
TLDR: I'm a fanboy of Spyro and you roped me in and absolutely nailed the story. 10/10 definitely reading more.

I love Spyro in this chapter. He's so endlessly enthusiastic and supportive and the only time we see him get genuinely upset is when Flame mentions how the village makes him feel useless. I LOVE how protective he is of Flame now, compared to how distant he was in the previous chapter
also, the cuddling in the end - finally! ^^
keep up the good work!!

oh man the way spyro is portrayed in this chapter with a mixture of bitter excitement and a bit of sadness along with a defensive anger is amazing.
i especially loved the touch of naivety when they were talking about being "partners" during their trip to Avalar,
and that ending is so fucking adorable,
the more i learn of their past the more interesting their reunion will be.
im ok with this getting updated every 2 weeks if it means you write such marvelous writing especially if it goes over the word limit
in other unrelated news a question: which cynder design do you prefer the black with maroon or purple with maroon?

First off, sorry for the late reply! And thanks so much for your feedback! I'm glad you feel you feel I got Spyro right. I wanted to give him a naive exterior, but as you point, he does get very protective when it comes to Flame!
Oh and when it comes to Cynder, I'm a fan of the old-school black design most definitely. That's the design she'll be rocking in this series!

I think I speak for everyone when I say that your chapters pushing past the character limit for the submission description is a good thing. This one was a truly delight to read, with so many funny and touching moments between Flame and Spyro. I really love the juxtaposition between their first night, with Flame sorta warily keeping a distance from Spyro, not wanting to be seen as weird, with the second night when he's finally able to enjoy same intimacy with a dragon he clearly loves (even if he doesn't know it himself yet!!)
I had no idea my "request" would grow into this but im really loving this and I can't thank you enough for all the time and effort you're putting into it!!
