yeah copy paste Generic military with generic "oh the super advanced military is coming to destroy us." incert here.... try watching the Smirfs, fallowed by Gone with the wind, Furn Gully and Pocahontas. after all that watch Soldier. if that's too much watch any anime / video game / movie involving the words "mech, military, rebellion, 1 white guy to save them all"
The only reason this movie got such a pass is because general population have never seen an anime nor had the budget to make one with that level of cg.

Okay.....I own Fern Gully, so I can "kind of" see the resemblence, but they were being attacked by the big black scary smog Hexis, not an advanced army and "the one white guy" in the movie didn't fully save them. Crysta did when she planted the seed in Hexis. I didn't care for Gone with the Wind (too long). Pocahontas is "supposed" to be based of history, and the only thing I can link Smurfs with Avatar is that they are blue (granted, I didn't watch them too much). And I guess I've just been watching the wrong animes, because I watch plenty.
I thought that the graphics were spectactular with a neat plot and some awesome characters. Hell, I didn't take my eyes off the screen the entire movie =/
But, I guess everyone has their own opinion, so To Each Their Own.

I honestly don't know whether the movie is bad or not. But I'm not about to hop on the "Avatar sucks hur hur hur hur hur" bandwagon BEFORE I see the movie.
After all, critics said LORD OF THE RINGS was a horrible movie. Yeah, I haven't seen a better movie made in a long time, and I'm not even that fond of the books in the first place.

You must be living under a rock or at the very least are incredibly naive if you think no one hated Lord of the Rings and happened to voice their opinion on it much in the same way you voiced your opinion on Avatar.
Furthermore, when Lord of the Rings actually came out, many critics (who were notorious for giving low ratings on anything but romantic comedies) rated it low, called it boring, stuff like that. Well known sites such as the "icanhascheezburger" chain have included jabs at Lord of the Rings.
So, to say that "No one" called Lord of the Rings terrible is a rather ignorant statement. I expected better from you.
